Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Ospreay is gonna start 2019 with first-time singles matches against Ibushi and PAC, kind of crazy really

Re: Revolution Pro Wrestling

Rev Pro is York Hall though. I'd hate to see this match anywhere else except Kourakuen or Ryōgoku tbh. Pac certainly going nowhere. Guess we find out about Ospreay after the Goto vs Ibushii match. I was talking about how they've rushed PAC and ZSJ into the Cockpit instead of waiting to do it at Yor...

Re: Revolution Pro Wrestling

Maybe I'm reading too much into things, but if you're rushing a guy into a match as opposed to holding off for a bigger venue, it's because you're not expecting that guy to stick around for too long.

Re: PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerilla)

So it's safe to assume Travis Banks is out of BOLA, as he confirmed on social media that his injury is worse than he originally thought. This is intresting, it will almost certainly be PAC who replaces Banks. PAC vs Shingo sounds amazing, but who the hell takes the loss? You can't have Shingo lose,...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

For the past 8 years straight only two men have won the Wrestle Kingdom main event. Winning the main event of WK is more elusive than any other accomplishment in NJPW, more so than the G1 or IWGP Title. These are the last 8 WK main event winners: 2018 - Kazuchika Okada (defeating Naito) 2017 - Kazuc...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

I'm expecting Kenny to be in a tag match at the US show against Tanahashi. Like Kenny/Hangman vs Tanahashi/Finlay or something. It builds for WK and doesn't waste a Kenny match on will already be a packed show with Juice/Cody and Bucks/GOD. Tanahashi saying he wants to defend the briefcase against O...

Re: Q&A (August 6): Call for Questions

I'm totally serious, this is a debate I've been having recently with my brother and would like you to weigh in. In a fight to the death scenario, do you think you have a better chance against a Rhino or a Giraffe? My brother thinks Giraffe but I think they're too big and too fast, you couldn't do sh...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

There's no way Kenny is winning every match, I'm like 100% that's not gonna happen. It legit wouldn't shock me to see him get rolled up by Yano but my money is on Ishii upsetting him. Ishii is perfect for getting upsets on big names and it's all set up too perfectly to not play out that way. To be h...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

Just came across an interesting stat about Okada and the G1, not sure if anybody else has mentioned it or not. Since Okada returned in 2012 from excursion, there's been 7 G1's. If we look at his record and his IWGP title status at the time you get some interesting info: 2012 - Okada is not IWGP Cham...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

The difference for me between Jay White's matches and Bad Luck Fale/Tama Tonga's matches this G1 has been that the stuff in Jay's match feels like part of the match. When Jay goes for the chair it's still a part of the narrative the match is telling as a whole, you see stuff like him missing, his op...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

I think Jay White is more likely to be the first person to win the briefcase on the way to WK than to win the G1 himself. Very much fits his character to beat the eventually winner and "steal" the title shot than to actually win it normally.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/7-stars.html It could be me, but the new Kenny Omega 7-star shirt at Pro Wrestling Tees looks like they used a Tanahashi silhouette. Am I seeing things? Good spot here! The silhouette is definitely Kenny but you're 100% right in that it looks way too similar to Tana...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

So I saw a post on Reddit today about how Kenny and Tanahashi are being kept extremely apart and have been for a couple of years. I honestly didn't notice but now that it's been brought to my attention I can't stop thinking Tanahashi will be our G1 winner and challenge Kenny for the belt at WK13. Ev...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

I can't see Jay getting to the finals this year, even via sneaking through. In fact I actually think Jay is more likely to go the opposite way and not get enough points to get through but get big surprise wins over the likes of Tanahashi and Okada. I think that will do him the world of good in terms...
