Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I can understand why people are upset about the finish to the main event. After a year of title defences where I never really honestly believed he was going to lose any of them, Okada went and won the one that I felt he had no business winning. I understand why it makes business sense, with "aces ne...

Re: 2017 End of the Year Pro Wrestling Positivity Thread

Awesome idea. Braun Strowman. Absolute breath of fresh air. Watching him doing his thing at SummerSlam is up there as one of my most favourite moments watching wrestling. It feels like years since they had a proper big man doing big man things, looking convincing and creating moments that didn't com...

Re: *NEW* ROH Thread. Keep it clean.

I attended last year's Final Battle and to reflect back on that show and see this proposed card (and the further fleshed out card that Dave projected in the Observer isn't much better) makes me sad as someone whose seen more ROH shows live over the last decade than any other promotion. I get it, th...

I hope Silas Young gets a big match after beating Jay Lethal recently.

Re: WWE WrestleMania 33 - April 2, 2017

With the prospect of Owens, Rollins and Reigns all going over on Sunday, do you guys think we'll still be seeing part-timers in 18 months time? It seems impossible to imagine WrestleMania 35 being headlined by Lesnar or Taker or somebody, surely next year's WrestleMania is the last one with such a g...

Re: WWE WrestleMania 33 - April 2, 2017

Do we know whats on the pre show? I'm assuming Raw tag titles, Smackdown womens and CW title matches but I haven't watched any WWE tv since Fastlane and my lazy googling didn't clue me in. I usually refuse to watch the Pre shows but I should probably tune in for this. I would imagine two of the thr...

Re: Official WWE Thread

I don't understand why the Knight Family are pissed off. WWE are bringing a bunch of a wrestling fans into an area you run regularly, play your cards right and it's good exposure for their promotion to an audience that likely doesn't even know they exist.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

It probably doesn't help that they get an influx of international subscribers to NJPW World because of Kenny Omega, who loses and then announces he's going on a break. Okada vs. Suzuki might not be the program to keep those fans locked in and as we've learned from AAA's recent disasters, you only re...

Re: NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11

The problem wasn't the length of the match for me, it was having a ring announcer tell me how long it was going. At 30 minutes, I had the dreaded thought of they're doing a time limit draw aren't they? fuckin gedo and then spent the rest of the match hoping that the sequence after the next sequence ...

Second that, was really surprised how much they gave Tozawa in that match. I think he's a really special talent and it seems they know what they have on their hands with him.

Re: Official WWE Thread

Is the problem with the Cruiserweights not just that they don't stand out presentation-wise? They are about the same size as Seth Rollins and AJ Styles and barring an extra rotation on their springboard flippy-do, they have no real superior athletic ability to flirt. Most of WWE's main events now ar...

Re: The End of TNA? Or the beginning of CFW (Clusterf*ck Wrestling)?

Considering Impact Ventures is a Limited Liability Company, what trouble can Dixie actually get into for not paying creditors? And why isn't she named personally in the A01 lawsuit? They are suing Dean Broadhead and Ron Harris by name, alongside Impact Ventures and Aroluxe. Billy is of course suing ...

Re: TNA: It still exists, kind of!

Which leaves my curiosity on what the fuck Dixie Carter has been doing over the last two years. Once Hogan and some of the other top talent left, she's essentially been on autopilot through a complete downward spiral. Even now, when this company she spent so much time and her family money is about ...

Re: WCW Thread

I've just started a Nitro marathon and I was wondering if there were any fans that could help me out with their perspective here? I didn't start watching wrestling until 2003 but I always heard that Hulkamania was dead around the mid-90's. I watched the Halloween Havoc '95 go home show and I was st...
