Re: WWE NXT 2019 (USA Network debut on 9/18)

I could probably be convinced I went too high on the opener and the Cesaro match, but I freaking LOVED the Cesaro match.

Re: WWE NXT 2019 (USA Network debut on 9/18)

Takeover Cardiff SLAPPED. Best WWE show of the year. The first 3 matches were all 4+ with the Cesaro match probably close to 4.75 and then I went full 5 on the main. It's between that and Shingo/Osprey for MOTY rn.

Re: WWE NXT 2019 (USA Network debut on 9/18)

Great show this week, after another very solid outing last week. Interesting they put the belts back on UE after a short run by the Street Profits. Does anyone know if there is someone in particular who agents these Tag matches? IMO the only thing that consistently delivers more than NXT tags are NJ...

Re: WWE NXT 2019 (USA Network debut on 9/18)

I really liked the show on the 21st and I think that if Vince doesn't get involved too much and they keep the same spirit going forward NXT could actually improve with an added hour. If they really wanna compete with AEW I think they need to have a work-rate old school type of program and I'm assumi...

Re: WWE NXT 2019 (A-show schedule in OP)

Candace/Io ruled. What has Mia ever shown that would make people think she deserved that spot? She was the worst of any of the challengers Bazler has faced so far. Like has been said so many times, it was great while it lasted but I'm over Gargano/Cole. This was the least enjoyable of all the NXT ma...

Re: Official WWE Thread

I'm still thinking about how WWE managed to walk into Summerslam with Seth as a lame ass challenger who was resoundingly booed in a backstage video, and yet somehow got the title win reaction they've been trying to give to Roman Reigns for nearly 5 years now. I think it's simply because they had a ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Totally off subject question here but... Kota Ibushi is clearly on the gas no? The guy looks like a late 00s WWE guy right now

Re: WWE NXT 2019 (A-show schedule in OP)

The pop for Dunne on tonight's NXT was one of the best I've heard all year.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Echoing BoxingRobes' thoughts on Charlton. For a guy who isn't necessarily a commentator as much as just a fan he really adds so much to the broadcasts. I like that they primarily use him for that time in between or after matches to really add to the stories and help the English speakers out. My onl...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Looks to me like Mox has been studying some Stan Hansen in Japan tapes. I was shocked at how entertaining his match vs. Taichi was.

Re: WWE NXT 2019 (A-show schedule in OP)

I really enjoyed how they built up Wilde to be that kind of, "I was broken down, hurt, and nowhere. Now this is my redemption" type of guy only to feed him to Garza in rd 1. I think Garza could be a big time heel in NXT. A shit heel with tons of talent, loved that he just out wrestled him and won cl...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Of all the times that Okada has entered the G1 as IWGP Champion, surely this is the time he's most likely to come out on top. There are two very prominent names that he has open stories with that are not in this G1, i.e. Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, and either of those could main event the Tokyo ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

After seeing these gaijins get these weird tangentially similar pervert gimmicks; Jay White SWITCHBLADE Knife Pervert, Chris Jericho PAINMAKER Cenobite Pervert, Jon Moxley DEATHRIDER Biker Bar Pervert, I think I'm starting to understand how all the Japanese fans felt any time they would see a wrestl...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I'm giving all 5 to Shingo/Will. Will can be as big for NJPW as Kenny Omega was. I hope we get to see him in the G1 this year. Shingo is awesome awesome awesome, but Will could be the biggest guy in the company if they wanted. My favorite spot was Will struggling to fight out of the Last of the Drag...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Taichi, Ospreay, Nicholls, Finlay. No way they pull the trigger on Shingo who will probably be coming right off a win in BOSJ.
