Re: VOW Flagship: The Fiend, New TV Landscape, NJPW, ROH
On the topic of weekly wrestling saturation - do you think MLW and Beyond still find a way to benefit from all of this, and to what degree? If AEW and Smackdown on Fox create new/returning wrestling fans, do they trickle down to MLW? I also dig MLW, but a big part of the appeal for me is I don't fee...

Re: *NEW* ROH Thread. Keep it clean.
Watched the three ROH/CMLL shows, and in case you were wondering if there was anything good on them: 9/6 in Dearborn: RUSH/Triton : If you've been dipping into these to see what Rush is up to, this one is worth checking out. Short and fun, like any time Rush gets to squash another CMLL guy. Surprise...

Re: Dragon Gate (Discussion)
Did anyone else think the Korakuen was kinda meh? I thought the zero match was a highlight because Jimmy teaming with Mochi Dojo guys is his biggest role yet, even if it was in a match that doesn't really count. Between this and his elimination in the battle royal at Gate of Origin, it looks like he...

Re: Official All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Thread
I finally got around to watching the show today, and I'm still surprised at how much I liked it. Even the matches I didn't like that much (Cody/Spears, BFFs/Dark Order) had moments that made them worth watching. I really liked Jericho v. Page a lot. I always seem to go high on Jericho matches this y...

Re: Dragon Gate
I think the conversation around the Dangerous Gate main event has been kinda interesting. I thought YAMATO and Ben-K put in a real King's Road-style match that stood out on a DG show in a way I ended up liking as the match went on. I think it really suits the whole longterm arc of Ben-K proving hims...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??
I just watched the matches from night one and they were real fun. Noah post-early 2000’s is almost a complete blind spot for me. Hammerstone looked great toward the end of his match and Mochizuki/Nakajiima was expectedly wild. Where should I be looking to watch the rest outside of PuroresuDream?

Another bozo talking about wrestling they watched: Writing Spirit Unleashed (update: 6/12/2008, SpeedMuscle vs. MCMG)
http://writingspiritunleashed.blogspot.com Every so often a random match I watch sparks a line of thought I'd like to yell into the void, and I'll be dumping those thoughts out here. I'll include links to them or at least tell you where you can (legally) find them. With whatever frequency I manage t...

Re: Dragon Gate
Anyone watch these 8/17 and 8/18 shows? Some fun stuff worth checking out: 8/17- Ben-K v. Punch, Kaito Ishida v. YAMATO : The Dangerous Gate main event opponents got singles matches. I adore Ben-K in tags but as a singles have only really been wowed by a couple matches this year (Kzy and Shun, off t...

Re: VOW Flagship: G1 Finals, KENTA/Shibata & WWE SummerSlam Review
I have a day off and the house to myself, and I value an empty kitchen to make breakfast in. This morning I opened the fridge, a fridge compromised by letting my girlfriend do the grocery run, and realized I'd used up most of my preferred omelette accoutrements. There was no way I was going to the s...

Re: Game Changer Wrestling
Did anybody watch the Janela Escape From L.A. show? I had time this morning and threw it on meaning to just flip around and mostly check out Havoc/Gage. Ended up thinking it was a pretty great show, and in more than the normal carcrash way. Jungle Boy/Lloyd, Dickinson/Statlander (and I'm never reall...

Re: *NEW* ROH Thread. Keep it clean.
A few musings about the Summer Supercard show that, due in large part to a slow day at work, grew into a very long post: First two matches were alright. Sometimes I watch a TK/Vinny tag, get into it for a bit and forget why I don’t like them. Then they start getting into their character work and it ...

Re: VOW Flagship: TripleMania, G1 Climax Final Stretch, SummerSlam Weekend
And KENTA can't really just beat the shit out of Ospreay and be a dick because Ospreay is contractually obligated to hit all of his spots in every single match (and also go over 20 minutes in a match that totally doesn't require it). I can't tell you how happy it makes me to hear someone else say t...
