Re: VOW Flagship: AEW, Jay White, PAC vs. Kzy, EVOLVE & more!

Has NJPW officially announced that Ibushi is signed? In his promo he just said he was sticking around, not necessarily that he had a full time contract or anything. He's still listed the same way he was before in the website. I figure they would do an official announcement or something. I don't know...

Re: Big Japan - The promotion of MEN

Sekimoto/Hama at Korakuen was a fantastic match. Very simple story which worked great. The crowd was super hot for it.

Re: VOW Flagship: EVOLVE, Destruction, HIAC, Your Questions

To be fair to Zeus, I think if those matches had been 5 to 10 minutes shorter they could've been better (I liked them but I did feel like they dragged a bit). I mean, he and Shuji had a very good match last year in the Royal Road.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

The interaction between Jake Lee and Jun Akiyama was awesome on the 8/26 show, but it looked like Jake had serious boo-boo face when he came out, and the match ended with Akiyama basically knocking him out. Anybody else feel like Jake Lee had a lot of momentum coming back and they've blown it a bit...

Makabe's gonna pin Okada in Hachioji, you'll see. It's his home turf.

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

I would be considerably less upset with these chair spots in the G1 if, at least, they bumped or distracted the ref in a decent manner beforehand. I hate it when guys just start randomly hugging the ref and pushing him into the ropes, stuff like White just pushing Red Shoes with the chair before try...

Would the matches really be that different with Iwamoto as Junior champ if everyone else in the division is still there?
I think it would be an improvement if he was the champ; it would at least be something new. But I agree that it's not like it would be the saving grace or anything.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

All hail TAJIRI. New TV champion Perfect spot for this old fucker. The lineage of wacky AJPW midcard title reigns continues. Ofc the match wasn't much but I did like that he had to bust out the mist twice for this. Aoki vs Iwamoto was alright, in the range of *** 1/4 ~ *** 1/2 or something like tha...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I'm sure they'll find a way to make holding the event cheaper, but flying over rookies to work shows is a bit of a vanity move. Ideas like running outside of California have been dismissed as costing too much, but it's hard to believe the primary issue is the expenses if these shows got a green lig...

A Young Lion's show in America seems incredibly ballsy. How many can they even expect to pull? A couple hundred?
I think it's going to be part of a larger convention or something.

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Aoki defends the junior belt against Iwamoto on July 15 in Korakuen alongside the Akiyama vs Tajiri match for the GAORA belt. Valletta also debuts on this show. Valletta and Tajiri then challenge Suwama and Shuji for the tag belts in Fukouka on July 22. The big Edion show is on the 29th so do AJPW ...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Violent Giants won the World Tag Titles today. Why did they even have to lose them in the first place? Shuji Ishikawa is a freelancer and has commitments elsewhere he wants to uphold? So really, the question is: Jun Akiyama, when will you sign this man away from everywhere else? He did miss ...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

The card is basically a Sakura Genesis/ King of Pro Wrestling Card. Heavyweight title, One of the big secondary heavyweight titles( in this case the US), Jr title, Never title, and the tag titles. We are getting four singles title matches on a show which is way more than Genesis got this year. Plus...

Re: G1 CLIMAX 28

So I saw a post on Reddit today about how Kenny and Tanahashi are being kept extremely apart and have been for a couple of years. I honestly didn't notice but now that it's been brought to my attention I can't stop thinking Tanahashi will be our G1 winner and challenge Kenny for the belt at WK13. E...
