Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

Makes more sense now. Still thought Jake looked pissy coming out. Is Jun Akiyama also the kayfabe head of AJPW and he's storyline pissed about a lack of opportunities? I know he usually looks like he's sucking a lemon but I didn't read disdain, I read annoyance. Anyway they kicked the shit out of ea...

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

The interaction between Jake Lee and Jun Akiyama was awesome on the 8/26 show, but it looked like Jake had serious boo-boo face when he came out, and the match ended with Akiyama basically knocking him out. Anybody else feel like Jake Lee had a lot of momentum coming back and they've blown it a bit ...

Re: Dragon Gate

Ryo Saito getting his head shaved and adopting the mannerisms of and wrestling like a young boy is my favorite thing of 2018 so far.

Re: wXw - Germany's biggest promotion

I realize there's a lot going on in the wrestling world right now, but Lethal vs. Lucky Kid, Walter vs. Ilja, and ZSJ vs. Starr are all killer matches that nobody is talking about.

Re: Dragon Gate

Looks better today now that I'm watching the actual replay and not just starting the stream over. Pretty stoked about these upcoming shows; hope I can get to them all in time before they are taken down.

Re: Dragon Gate

Trying to watch the replay from this morning and the video quality is absolute ass. Not really seeing the $15 value here.

Re: Big Japan - The promotion of MEN

The quality of the wrestling in the tournament was so high and I thought the matches and finishes were laid out so well that it was even more of a bummer for it to end the way that it did. And, I know I'm beating a dead horse, but the fact that I had to watch the last night illegally when I pay for ...

Re: wXw - Germany's biggest promotion

Yeah, seeing Walter approximately 20 times in 3 days detracted from that match a bit, but Ilja is so damn good and fun to watch right now. The ladder match dragged a bit but I loved Al-Ani climbing the ladder with his hands tied. Honestly, though, I thought Shotgun this week was more exciting than T...

Re: wXw - Germany's biggest promotion

The matches look fine, it's the backstage segments that look rinky-dink to me. But that's a minor complaint. Absolutely loving the product and storytelling.

Re: wXw - Germany's biggest promotion

So, I watched 16 Carat on FloSlam last year and enjoyed it but didn't watch anymore wXw until this year's tournament. Because I'm not a complete idiot, I immediately subscribed to the streaming service and I've been loving it. More independent promotions should use their storytelling model and emula...

Re: Big Japan - The promotion of MEN

You're right. More just me giving big ups to BJW. I hope Carnival gets better because it's largely been a snoozefest to my eyes so far and it feels like a bad time for AJPW to be putting on boring shows given that they've just introduced the streaming service. I'm also not totally caught up on Stron...

Re: Big Japan - The promotion of MEN

So is it me or has Strong Climb been infinitely better than Champion Carnival so far?
