Re: WWE raids NJPW talent

From my standpoint, it brings a lot of much needed juice/intrigue to New Japan. Sure, it'll suck to not be able to watch Nakamura but now it forces the hand to create new stars. I was a guest on Japanese Audio Wrestling yesterday (plug: http://fightnetwork.com/news/6539515:japanese-audio-wrestling-...

Re: WWE raids NJPW talent

1. Comparing Nakamura to NXT guys like Kenta is pretty useless because Nak isn't going to NXT as far as we know. 2. If Nakamura signs, WWE will need to pay him a lot; they are going to want to get something out of him. I have serious doubts on whether they can execute, but WWE isn't gonna pay him th...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Is there a reason that Kamaitachi isn't on the FantasticaMania shows?

Lineups are here -> http://www.thecubsfan.com/cmll/2016/01/ ... announced/

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

What are the odds that Kidani throws gobs of money at Nak and he stays? Obviously moot if he already signed a contract with WWE.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Screwing around with one year contracts in 2015 was going to bite New Japan eventually, hopefully they learn from it and everyone benefits. Unless a massive WWE fan I don't see how anyone can cheer for shit like this. If we can stop thinking selfishly, the wrestlers now making more money (not just t...

This was so much fun; I actually really like the way it was shot too.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder what percentage of subscribers don't read the Observer and are only there for the audios.

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

Wrote about this on Twitter, but figured it might be worth talking about in this topic as well. I just started catching up with the podcast Talking Sheet. The first ep in the queue was one with Chris Harrington from a few months back. It got me to thinking about guys like him and Brandon Howard; sp...

Thats the shocking thing really, who are these active wrestlers that didn't vote him in? It makes no sense.
A pretty strong rebuttal to the argument that wrestlers are the best people to judge other wrestlers.

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

this is a week where dave's tunnel vision gets the best of him, and a week where I question subscribing at times because you have to accept those personality ticks as a trade off we have to go back and continue to annotate the Bischoff/JBL interview Bischoff ran over his dog, I'm sure of it. Not to...

Re: Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame (2015)

There is an argument, maybe better made in a couple of years, that Joe was very influential as the champion who put ROH on the map. How many current/future stars were influenced by that era of Indies/ROH? Without Joe, does it happen (can be similarly applied to Punk)? Not sure how strongly I would p...
