Re: Call for Questions (Patreon Exclusive Solo Q&A/Ask Me Anything)

Sorry, got two NJPW ones: 1. Who do you rate amongst the best of NJPW's backstage interviews? I put Despy #1 with his arrogant Socratic method, but Taguchi's neverending rambling has an appeal. I feel like someone somewhere needs to break these down each tour; they're essential at this point. 2. How...

Re: Voices Of Music

The Dungen album is a good as I thought it would be, and I'm willing to say that Dungen is sneakily one of the best indie bands of the last 15 years.

Re: NJPW Destruction in Kobe, Go Shiozaki's Next Move & WWE Ratings

Fucking THANK YOU for highlighting the Dunnesque "cut away from some narrative to show people silently watching a big screen" nonsense. If the rumor is that Vince is going blind, can someone investigate whether him or Dunn are either legitimately illiterate, or a hardcore Luddites? How do they willf...

Re: Voices of Anime

I find the "everything goes" cons total nonsense, but Xavier Woods was at DragonCon this weekend and his Instagram is full of amazing pictures for those of us that find ourselves in the middle of a Wrestling/Anime-Manga-Japanese Culture Venn diagram. In some he's wearing a weird self-styled Attack o...

Imagine if that segment is how Vince learned of 2 Live Crew.

Re: WWE Summerslam/Takeover: Brooklyn

Everything was fun. Liger and Breeze was about as good as it could have been. Breeze's Runway entrance is my favorite thing in wrestling. Tag match was the best tag title match of any Takeover. I will keep laboring this point, but tonight stands as solid evidence: The Vaudevillains are really starti...

Re: Voices Of Music

I've tried just about every SCANDAL single, and skipped through their first two albums. I guess I can't say that there are cursory similarities in very specific examples. I don't think it's too outlandish a topic, considering the flagship podcast is heavily based on Japanese wrestling. Though I'm no...

Look at Gallows make the threat, turn it into a bit, and cast it away in less than 5 seconds. This guy can't even commit to disdaining Lanza, which should be one of the easiest things to do.

Re: Voices Of Music

Yeah, I'm not that into Scandal. The only thing they have in common with Sleater-Kinney is gender. What other Japanese stuff do people here listen to? I've found that the indie scene ignores Japan and Korea far too much. My favorites are: Shugo Tokumaru Tokyo Jihen Shiina Ringo Fujifabric Mountain M...

Re: WWE NXT 2015

I said this several weeks ago, but feel like the Vaudevillains have strengthened even more since then. They're in-ring work seems to be refining, certainly. Full Sail used to pop for the entrance then go dead fucking silent during their matches. Which is why I really hate that they're in this match....

Re: Voices Of Music

I was a bit underwhelmed by it. I felt like The Woods was the most immaculate album for them to retire with; bringing Dave fucking Fridmann as producer was such an obvious but brilliant move. That said, hearing The Tool backed by the only band worthy of supporting it is still pretty cool. Never thou...

Re: VOW Flagship (8/12): Call for Questions!

How do you "make you voice heard" as a wrestling fan in 2015? I hear different concepts. Are any valid? Are all valid? There's the speak with your wallet concept. Basically, if you don't like it, don't show up. A favorite argument of the vacantly smiling, preening longhair Patreon busker. It's part ...

Re: Voices of Anime

I've bee making my way through some Summer 2015 stuff: Gangsta. http://www.funimation.com/shows/gangsta/videos Highly recommended. If you're a fan of Black Lagoon, you might find this show a bit too familiar. You might also find the characterization a bit too coy, especially with the female lead. It...

Re: Voices Of Music

If you're not interested in modern rap, then I suggest you give this a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3WFkfME_Q0 It's right up there with Kendrick's album as far as things I've heard this year. I'm a bit limited in metal; basically, Boris, Melt Banana, Deafheaven, etc. And a lot of grindco...
