Re: Forum Changes/Suggestions (Sept 2019)

No one likes to hear this, but forums need antagonism - or at the very least adversarial relationships - to thrive. If you look at the golden age of forums (ridiculous term I know) they were filled with great debates, not huge catalogues of star ratings without context or very general comments on sh...

Re: Pro Wrestling hot stove

Ike Cross had a tryout too. Southern guy with a great look and huge upside. Was pretty much THE guy on the Georgia indie scene last year fwiw

Re: All In: September 1

B+ show that even I likely would have given an A with some shuffling of the card order and if Okada/Marty don't wrestle for a thousand years when it was evident that even the live audience didn't want that out of that match. Still this was the absolute right line up for the fans there. It was a hist...

Re: VOW Flagship: WOTY Candidates, FOX/WWE & much more!

I thought Joe's breakdown of the candidates was interesting and a welcome break from the regular stuff on the shows. I am an occasional listener. I would probably listen more often if the shows included more segments like that one, but I also think it's something you can't do every week or it loses ...

Re: WrestleMania 35 Weekend (NYC Metro Area)

Oh if I lived in the City I'd feel differently. But as someone who lived in Bergen County for years and had to go into the City all the time, there is no way on earth I want to deal with that mess when I'm supposed to be having fun.

Re: WrestleMania 35 Weekend (NYC Metro Area)

There is zero chance I'm going to Wrestlecon in Times Square. Honestly if everything other than Mania is in the city it's very unlikely I'll go at all

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

The failing up stuff is bad and lazy, even if the Tanahashi case is justifiable on long term/unique storytelling grounds. That said, if they are going to do that sort of stuff may as well have Naito beat Suzuki and Suzuki fail up and beat Okada for the belt in a few months. It will never happen, but...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

If the Golden Lovers are going to stay together for a long while, I want to see a KES feud with them.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Road to show has 0 of value to me on paper, unless they nut up and have Zack sub Okada. I get the arguments against it, but I don't want to even see a tag match with those two teams that doesn't end in that result if the idea is to build to the title match. A sub over Yoshi-hashi means fuck all. May...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

The show was solid. It felt really long and needlessly so given how few of the matches felt special. That said there was nothing I could really call bad on the show other than the production and the main event was great even if it was worked in a style I don't love. I liked the Suzuki/ZSJ v. Ishii/O...

Not WC, but heard tremendous things about last nights Inspire Pro card in Austin. Would be interested in hearing from those who attended or saw both shows

Re: PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerilla)

I am of the opinion that PWG used to be on the cutting edge and is kind of reestablishing that that some with Aussies now, but generally think they kind of got away from that for a while. I can tell you that inside the business it seems that the consensus for a while has been that you know you are a...

Re: PROGRESS Thread: The Fake Taxi of Wrestling

Trent Seven is basically the progeny of Gavin McInness and JC Ice at this point. I actually prefer him when the fans aren't expected to pretend he's better than a passable worker who can cut a promo and has strong presence. So I like him more now than ever. Banks is about as one note as it gets. He'...

Honestly Solow and Starks deserve better and should be a top tag team all over
