Re: Rob's Guide on How to Progress through PROGRESS

I've been slowly catching up on PROGRESS beginning with Chapter One, and am currently on Chapter 11. Big thanks because you doing this is what convinced me to give these early shows a-go and not just leap in at Chapter 20-something as a starting point. One of the things that I absolutely love and th...

Re: Global Cruiserweight Series (WWE)

The thing about Sombra is that he is as big as Sami Zayn. I mean he can work that style but if he has a match with let's say Corey Hollis, he's gonna look like a giant. La Sombra's tall for a smaller wrestler (5'11) but he's 180 lbs even (or at least he's billed as such). He more than meets the wei...

Re: Global Cruiserweight Series (WWE)

So am I alone in thinking the purpose of this tournament is to debut and put over La Sombra?

Re: Evolve 2015

I agree about the main event, but I didn't find the rest of the card to be particularly memorable; the good stuff went way too long(The Galloway/Konley match is the perfect example), and the meh stuff was...well, meh. Definitely a one match show, but what a match.

Re: Evolve 2015

I might puke a bit in the back of my throat if Gargano wins. Not because I hate Gargano or think he's without talent, but because it just stinks of pandering to WWE. Why gut the Thatcher reign before it has legs just to pander to a company that's going to "steal" the guy you are pushing anyway?

Re: Jimmy Rave!

Why isn't he in more prominent indy feds anymore? Would love him in NXT. Jimmy used to have a drug habit from what I understand, and I would assume no one wants to take the chance on him falling off the wagon again. Of course, it could be simply that Jimmy himself is just not interested at this poi...

Re: Low Ki vs. Bryan Danielson (ROH 03/30/2002)

My (thus far) favorite match of the Rob Feinstein era and it isn't close. Shamrock added without distracting, both men clearly struggled for control, going slowly because it wasn't just a fight; it was a match they wanted to win. Low-Ki could win the Round Robin challenge and secure bragging rights ...

Re: Dragon Gate 2015!!!

Didn't think either were that good until they stopped fucking around and just went to the homestretch, as per usual of Dragon Gate singles matches. I can not conceivably think of a better booked show to make the Millennials look like useless cunts. C'mon, Yoshino, you're slacking off! You could have...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Rikio's GHC reign never quite caught on and in reality nobody would in his position coming off an incredible Kobashi's GOD reign that was in hindsight a double edged sword to that promotion unless a Misawa or Akiyama or someone from the AJPW legendary status would be the one to win it back from him...

Re: Rob's Guide on How to Progress through PROGRESS

RJ Singh is an okay promo guy, but Stixx is an unappreciated great. Seriously, how has he NOT been signed? He can't be THAT bad in the ring with all these three stars you keep throwing his way, and he's much more comfortable talking (and more importantly, selling on a match) then most. Is his PROGRE...

Re: Full 2015 G1 Schedule

I tried to keep both blocks different; I had four men in contention until the last day in Block B with Nakamura squeaking out the win, while Block A was settled with the AJ Styles vs. Tanahashi match (Tanahashi going over). Tanahashi wins over all, settling the score with his generational rival befo...

Re: Rob's Guide on How to Progress through PROGRESS

Wow. I've tried to keep an open mind with the whole "Hammer of Thor" deal for the PROGRESS championship, but those shields are just...wow. I mean, I get it (two become one) but some concepts are much cooler in theory. So glad they switched to a sweet title belt, and can't wait for them to eventually...

Re: Dragon Gate 2015!!!

The Kagetora vs. Pre-Quu-Quu Brave Gate match was one of my favorite singles matches in Dragon Gate, even if Quu-Quu is a bit of a dick for having his poor daughter watch him get his ass beat.
