Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Even worse is how Tanahashi never even attempted to get his redemption on Suzuki before Suzuki lost the IC title. That moment of Tanahashi losing the title when Red Shoes determined that he couldn't go on back at New Beginning seemed like a big dramatic event when it happened, but now it almost fee...

Re: Powerbomb.TV, Highspots Network and Other Streaming Channels

Blacklabel Pro had a really good show last night that is well worth checking out once it gets uploaded. PCO had another tremendous match, this time with Chris Dickinson, and there's plenty of other highlights throughout the show. BLP is another promotion that I will be keeping on my radar going for...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

The two newest young boys debuted today and just in terms of size and appearance New Japan has really stepped up their game. Compare this pic of Uemura and Tsuji to Kawato and Kanemitsu when they debuted a few years back. Obviously you need more than raw tools to succeed especially in modern wrestli...

It looks like this was the first big All Japan show in Sendai in years. Its going to take time for them to build the secondary markets back up so this was a good start.

Having Kento take the pin the first match after winning the TC seems very weird to me.

Re: Streaming Service Recommendations

ROH really did quarter-ass it with their Honor Club roll out. None of the old school stuff with guys like Daniel Bryan, Punk, or Joe that people would be into and supposedly the streaming has been pretty shitty. The are offering Supercard with the monthly subscription so I may get it to see that.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I thought this was one of the best Road to shows that New Japan has done in a while, the YL singles match, Chaos/Taguchi Japan, and the last two matches really brought it. Surprised Korakuen wasn't even close to a sell out. Maybe Japanese fans aren't as into ZSJ as we are?

Re: King's Road - The All Japan Thread

That Saitama show was tough to make it through. I'm glad that All Japan is running bigger venues but the crowd was just dwarfed by the size of that building. Until the old man tag it felt like they were in an empty arena. The ME and All Asia tag are the only matches I'd recommend. Didn't get putting...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I'm stuck thinking about who is Okada going to defend against after SANADA, and what's going to happen in the cup. I'm willing to assume the defense, just as willing as I am to extend SANADA a generous 10% chance of victory. Could happen, I guess, but I don't think that's the story. So who's Okada'...

Re: Powerbomb.TV, Highspots Network and Other Streaming Channels

I've had powerbomb for the last month or so and its a fun service. Good mix of regional indies and some cool back-catalog stuff they've brought over from SMV.

Re: PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerilla)

I wasn't sure about Guevara as champ when you first suggested it, but the more I'd thought about it, the more I think I'd like it. Although he's still not my favorite choice to win (I still think Keith Lee is the best choice), I definitely would be interested in seeing how Guevara handles the main ...

All Japan announced that February 3rd Aoyagi and Nomura defend the All Asian titles against Jun and Yuji Nagata! This should be a helluva match and quite the coup for the young team if they win.

That its not like he overcame brain cancer and chemo to become a UFC champ. Obviously its an amazing accomplishment but having someone pick the winners and losers helps.

Re: Wrestle Circus - The Texas SuperIndie

Was going to say Dalton, the problem with him is I'm not sure he translates anywhere else. He is unique though. Just keep biting off of whoever Inspire gets behind, they pushed those same guys before anyone else did. Delilah Doom, too. Terrale Tempo is the Inspire guy who I think could get really b...

Re: Wrestle Circus - The Texas SuperIndie

The anniversary show was the same night as Thievery Corporation so I missed that but quite excited for November. Hopefully there aren't any injuries or scheduling issues like they've had the last couple of months.
