Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I've been down on NJPW and on wrestling in general for way more than a year now, but I had high expectations for WK, especially with not having watched a single NJ match since G1 final, and not watching a single whole show since last year's WK. This show absolutely delivered for me, altough it was p...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

So could anyone who subscribes to the patreon gimmick post a quick summary on the contracts, major matches planned etc, whatever big things Joe and Rich talked about?

Re: What's Your Match of the Year Process

I watch what I want to watch. When I hear a lot of buzz over a Progress, AAW or a DDT match, I try to see it. It's impossible to see all of them with the little free time I have for this stuff, but I think I've seen most of the top tier MOTY stuff this year that I wanted to. I don't do rewatches, un...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Would it be a problem to have LIJ just vacate the belts and BUSHI be in the the trios match with two mystery partners? That wouldn't be a big deal and New Japan has done the X gimmick many times before. God I fucking hope the Tag title match is not a 3 or 4 way. You could just do ZSJ and KES and GOD...

Re: VOW Flagship (December 6): Call for questions

There is already a great question RE: aces of other puro companies in New Japan, so let me ask you this. If you could choose but do it realistically, what main events NJPW's march LA show?

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

I mean me and Joe/Rich may have a different definition of "key act", but January (Elgin's two year contract expires, right?), indie bookings (which Ibushi doesn't do that much now and Elgin does all the time) and VOW account delivering a scoop (Joe seems to be close to Big Mike) make me think this i...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Consider me a hardcore fan as well, and even though I've kinda worked myself into thinking Okada/Naito, Omega/Ibushi, Tana/Shibata and Hiromu/Ospreay as 4 major Dome matches, I am still happy with the card honestly. You could say the biggest problem is the 4 way, and it speaks volumes about the show...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

For me still, the biggest news is not Jericho, not Ibushi and Tana delivering a top tier MOTYC, it's Jay F'n White coming back from excursion and re-debuting in a semi-main event of Wrestle Kingdom, against Hiroshi Tanahashi, in a IWGP IC title match. Like wow, that's just kinda surreal for the guy....

Re: VOW Flagship: Power Struggle, Bound for Glory, NWA/Tim Storm & more!

also re: Emma and Lanza&Kraetsch taking the W's - you guys should just do what you did week after Omega won the G1, when you just basically started the show off with Joe's 14 or 15' rant about how Omega is going to be a main eventer very soon, kinda expected same here with Emma honestly

Re: VOW Flagship: Power Struggle, Bound for Glory, NWA/Tim Storm & more!

For a second I thought the Makabe/Cody theory Joe had may be real, but they are not going to shoot an angle like this with Final Battle (headlined by Cody vs Castle for the belt, iirc) happening next month, are they? Unless New Japan decides to fuck with ROH for the Omega situation recently and just...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

So Osaka gets Ricochet vs Eita, Mochizuki vs Susumu on friday and Ospreay vs Scurll, Omega vs Trent and Tanahashi vs Ibushi on sunday, I am kinda jealous you know Trent/Omega is a nice surprise, didn't see that coming honestly, it is going to be interesting whether they are giving Omega a win to set...
