Hiroyo Matsumoto & Miria Koga def. Lana Hisaki & Mio Shirai
When I saw the card and saw the wrestlers come out, I thought, okay, it’s an opening tag. It’s gonna be a simple in-and-out match, but this match genuinely surprised me for how well it was wrestled, and how impressive Koga and Hisaki were.
I’m not leaving out Matsumoto and Shirai because they were bad or something. It’s because over the years we’ve come to expect a certain level from them, especially, Matsumoto.
Miria was kicking the snot out of Hisaki. Hisaki, to her credit sold really well. Matsumoto, as is often the case, was the stronger of the wrestlers in the ring, and she would frequently impress this upon her opponents with timely shoulder tackles and a great delayed back suplex on Mio as Mio struggled to get away from her grip.
Did I say Miria kicked the snot out of Hisaki? Well, let me reiterate how stiff these kicks were, because holy shit!
I had to keep reminding myself that this is the opener of the show.
The finish came when Miria pinned Hisaki following a Missile Dropkick. Really good opener. ***½
Ka Kedita & La Pidita def. Debbie Keitel & Madison Marley
This was billed as a High Speed Tag Team Match, and it sure lived up to its name.
Kedita & Pidita wasted no time in clearing house.
This match was worked at a frantic pace. They got the heat on Marley early. Marley & Keitel did some nice double team stuff till they got cut off. Pidita ran the ropes hard and had some real urgency to her work. Pidita wrenched in a brutal armbar that, honestly should have been used a bit later in the match given how tightly it was cinched in, but Keitel broke it up.
Pidita & Marley screwed up a couple of spots, but they didn’t let it impact their flow. A bit of friendly fire between Marley & Keitel as the former got a high kick to the face from her tag partner.
The finish was a bit of chaos as Kedita took out the ref when Marley had Pidita in a schoolboy pin, then we had another instance of friendly fire when Keitel sprayed water(?) on Marley instead of Pidita as she moved away.
Then, we get that brutal looking armbar again and this time Marley taps. ***1/4
Post match, we had some shoving and bickering between Marley & Keitel given what just transpired.
Mima Shimoda & Nagisa Nozaki def. Chanyota & MIRAI
Chanyota is the newly crowned P.P.P Venus of the Party Woman’s Champion. MIRAI is the newly crowned GHC Women’s Champion.
They got a warm reception from the crowd.
MIRAI is an interesting case study in how successful she’s been post her move from Stardom and then Marigold in 2025.
It deserves its own piece, so I’m not going to write much about it in this review.
They were facing the veteran team of Mima Shimoda & “Nozobitch” Nagisa Nozaki.
We start the match off with heat on Nozaki till she goes into “bully mode” and unleashes double handed overhead chops in the corner on Chanyota. When Nozaki is “on”, she’s really great. This was one of those matches. She has a dominating presence and she uses it well to control the pace of the match.
Chanyota displays some good offense against Shimoda, who’s a far cry from her AJW days but she wrestles pretty well for a 55 year old veteran. Shimoda lands a good german suplex on MIRAI.
Shimoda tries to attack her with her pink steel chair but it’s thwarted. Then, we get a comedy spot where MIRAI invites her to sit on the chair in the middle of the ring. She says, it’s no trick, see I’ll sit on it. Then, she invites Chanyota to sit, and then Nozaki who all confirm that, indeed there is no trick.
Finally, after displaying much skepticism, Shimoda accepts and warily sits on the chair, and it’s immediately shoved backward by MIRAI, leading to a pin attempt.
Shimoda gets her revenge later on when she skulls both MIRAI and Chanyota with the pink chair.
MIRAI and Nozaki is some stiff kicks, lariats and backdrops. This match picks up when they are together. The finish comes when Nozaki hits a brutal looking Sleeper suplex on Chanyota for the pin. ***1/2
VENY def. Unagi Sayaka
These are two of my favorite wrestlers in the Joshi scene, so I was excited for this match-up.
Anybody who has seen VENY work, knows she has great ring presence.
Unagi rushed VENY with a barrage of elbows, which VENY no-sold, before taking her down with a swift double leg and giving her a hard low kick to show her that they had the edge over her in terms of size and wrestling ability.
This would be the template for their match. Unagi would get a bunch of offense in, VENY would wait out her barrage, then land one hard blow to dominate Unagi.
A brutal highlight was when Unagi and VENY were brawling outside, and Unagi had momentarily gained advantage by throwing chairs at VENY, and shoving them into the post.
VENY returned with a THWACK, a thunderous slap, that sounded like a gun going off.
This wasn’t a match about pins, and big moves and submissions. It was about respect, which VENY made abundantly clear, that they had none for Unagi or her offense.
There were several instances of this lack of respect, I’ll add one more to this review. After two missile dropkicks to Unagi, VENY instead of going for a normal cover, opted to step on Unagi, to pin her, in the most cocky fashion possible.
Unagi showed her frustration when VENY missed a moonsault, and she unleashed a barrage of elbows in mount position. That also got her her first two count of the match.
It required a spinning heel kick, a brutal Michinoku driver, and her signature Moonsault to put away Unagi’s spirited effort. Great match. ****¼
There was no love lost between the two in the post-match promos.
Makoto def. Selene Misora
Selene got a good reception from the crowd.
Makoto drew the ire of the crowd for attacking Selene as she went in for the pre-match handshake.
Makoto took control of the match early when they brawled outside. She landed a nice axe kick and running boot on Selene.
Makoto controlled most of the match, which plays into Selene’s strengths as she plays a great babyface in peril.
Selene started her comeback with a nice casadora to foot stomp. She tried to climb up to the toprope but Makoto cut her off and kicked her in the gut as she was draped over the top rope. Ouch!
They screwed up a spot pretty bad when Selene was standing waiting for Makoto to come running in and presumably, do a spot, but they both just stood there. It drew audible laughs from the crowd.
They just did the spot again, it was supposed to be a running boot. Probably Selene wasn’t in position or some miscommunication.
They recovered well from that mishap, the crowd was forgiving. Selene locked in an ankle lock, and there was a long struggle for Makoto to get to the ropes. Makoto countered her offense with a neat double underhook suplex.
Selene hit a series of foot stomps for a two count. The match has picked up pace. Selene hit a top rope stomp, which missed Makoto for a two count.
The match descended to a SLAP BATTLE~!
Selene got the better of Makoto for a bit, till she was flattened with a spear for a ONE Count, a head kick and Makoto’s Fireman’s carry driver for the pin. Another great match despite the little flub in the middle. ****
SEAdLINNNG Beyond The Sea Title Match
Ayame Sasamura (c) def. Honori Hana
Main event time! We had proper ring introductions with streamers and everything.
Bell rings and we get a hot start! Honori with the early advantage as she throws Ayame by her hair around the ring a couple of times.
They brawl to the outside, and Ayame hits her first elbow.
JEEZUS.
She hits HARD. A couple of elbows is all it takes for Ayame to get in control of the match
and then she hits her first slap.
JEEZUS
It sure sucks to be Honori. She briefly tried a comeback, which was thwarted by a simple, brutal THWACK, a thunderous slap, which grounded Honori immediately.
My sympathies to Honori, not sure how her eardrum survived that onslaught. We get a lengthy submission spot, followed by Honori being brutalized outside.
In the ring, we finally get a great comeback by Honori after 7-8 shoulder tackles, with the crowd firmly behind the challenger.
Honori hits a superplex and a double underhook slam for a two. This match kicks into another gear from here.
Ayame hits a picture perfect bridging fallaway slam, and a northern lights for two.
Honori hits Ayame with three great spears and several headbutts before hitting a toprope splash.
They exchange brutal headbutts before Ayame hits Honori with a brainbuster for a 2.999
Ayame finally hits her with the Tiger Suplex for the pin.
Excellent match! ****½
Post-match, Ka Kedita & La Pidita attack Ayame before Unagi runs in for the save. In a hilarious spot, Unagi pulls out Kedita’s mask only for her to have another mask underneath.
Final Thoughts
SEAdLINNNG Early Summer Games 2026 was a really good show with two great matches you should definitely check out. This was SEAdLINNNG’s farewell to Shinjuku FACE, which closes in September.
