Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Night 8)
June 5, 2026
Morioka Gymnasium
Morioka, Japan
Watch: Wrestle Universe
Why was 7 afraid of 8? Because 8, wait, forget it, that doesn’t work. Anywho, I am covering 3 nights of the Neo Global Tag League, as NOAH runs on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, so I will keep these match reviews short and to the point.
Yuto Koyanagi def. Midori Takahashi
I can’t say enough good things about NOAH’s rookie class. I do believe in putting things you want out into the universe, so I think it would be a great idea if all Japanese promotions came together and had a rookie/young lion tournament to crown Japan’s “rookie of the year,” perhaps during the doldrums of November & December. Short
Team 2000X (Jun Masaoka, Kai Fujimura, OZAWA & Tadasuke w/ Yoshi Tatsu) def. Atsushi Kotoge, Hajime Ohara, Kazuyuki Fujita & Mohammed Yone
The first thing I noticed was that Fujita had a taped-up lip, stemming from his fight with Inamura on Night 7. I’m sure the tape was a necessity, but it was a nice touch still. This was your typical Team NOAH vs Team 2000X multi-man match, with OZAWA getting the win after a springboard moonsault to Ohara. My word, OZAWA is an athlete, I cannot wait for his babyface turn! Meh
AMAKUSA, Kenoh & Naomichi Marufuji def. Black Menso-re, Katsumi Inahata & KENTA
The highlight of this match for me was the interaction between Marufuji & Inahata. These two faced off at this year’s New Year Reboot show, and I think it’s time for that rematch. So, my “fantasy card” so far is as follows: Marufuji vs Inahata, OZAWA vs Stallion Rogers (Invader #82) & Daiki Odashima vs Yoshiki Inamura.
The worst part of this match was KENTA clotheslining everyone in sight and then accidentally clotheslining his own partner, Black Menso-re. The reason I did not like that spot was because it made me laugh, and my gimmick is that I am “grumpy and don’t like fun,” so I apologize for breaking kayfabe. I still don’t like this clown though, just to be clear. Kenoh pinned Menso-re after a top rope double stomp, that I hope hurt. I am just kidding, of course, kind of. Fun
Hi69 def. RYUSEI
Hi69, in his hometown, came to the ring with cheerleaders, which was a nice touch. Not much to see here, but it was good to see RYUSEI learning how to face an opponent in their hometown. Hi69 got the win after a “Stuka Splash,” that looks truly painful to be on the opposite end of. Lesson
Daiki Odashima, Eita & Passionate RATEL’S (Manabu Soya & Yuki Iino) def. Alejandro, Hiroto Tsuruya, Stallion Rogers & Yoshiki Inamura
Ok, so Passion Max have a double team move where Iino has his opponent in a fireman’s carry and Soya spears Iino, and then Iino falls backwards into a “Samoan Drop.” That’s dumber than the Sunsetters goofy “From Dusk Till Dawn!” What is with these teams hurting themselves and accomplishing nothing in the process?!? Anyway, Odashima & Tsuruya looked great as usual because they took what they were doing seriously. I mean imagine if a company, like NOAH, decided they were going to be the one company that took this seriously. Imagine how much they would stand out? They would be the only promotion on this plant that fully did so! No stuffed animals, no puppets, no dancing, no black t-shirts, just the sport of pro wrestling with some naturally charismatic people thrown in. Why not just try it and see what happens? Could business in Japan really get much worse if someone just attempted this insane idea? Ok, sorry for ranting. Odashima & Tsuruya closed the match with a nice stretch with Odashima getting the pin after a belly to back suplex. Okay
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block A Match)
Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) [6] def. Lykos Gym (Kid Lykos & Kid Lykos II) [2]
Well, it didn’t take long before they were all brawling around the building. Honestly, I have seen so much of this exact thing while doing these reviews that I just drift off completely once they leave the ring. I will say though, once they got back in the ring, this was the best the Good Brothers have looked so far on this tour, and I’m not surprised. These are two teams with lots of experience teaming together, one side clearly the babyfaces and one side clearly the heels. The highlight of the match had to be Gallows hitting Lykos 2 with a “Styles Clash.” I did not see that one coming! AJ Styles to NOAH? Not a chance, but that would be a great twist. Good Brothers got the win, soon after, with a “Magic Killer.” They now stand at 6 points as Lykos Gym stands still at 2 points. Pretty Good
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block A Match)
Team 2000X (Masa Kitamiya & Takashi Sugiura) [4] def. All Rebellion (Alejandro & Kaito Kiyomiya) [2]
Kiyomiya’s original partner, Harutoki, is out of the tag league with a cervical spinal cord injury, and Alejando has stepped up to take his place. This is not commonplace in Japanese tournaments, but I do prefer it this way, especially when the replacement is another member of the same faction. That is another good reason to be in a faction, isn’t it? I would like to wish Harutoki a speedy recovery. I was enjoying his output in this tag league and hope he can return soon. As far as the match went, it lasted under 4 minutes, when Kitamiya submitted Alejandro. Short
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block A Match)
Los Tranquilos de Japon (BUSHI & Tetsuya Naito) [6] def. White Raven Squad (HAYATA & Tetsuya Endo) [4]
This match was “mid” & Naito is “cooked.” Do I sound young? I’m sure I don’t, but there are many wrestlers out there right now who are young and would love the opportunity to wrestle for NOAH and would also come with a much cheaper price tag. From what I could see, this small building was certainly not full, so is Naito worth what he is being paid? I think not, but I can tell you who is not “cooked” and that is Tetsuya Endo. I am really looking forward to his GHC Title shot against Shane Haste. Speaking of Haste, why aren’t TMDK in this thing? Mikey Nicholls is just freelancing in Australia. Anywho, Naito got the win with a “Destino” to Hayata. Fine

Daiki Odashima def. Hiroto Tsuruya
With a new venue came a new camera angle, as the hard cam was seemingly in a balcony, which took some getting used to. Camera angles aside, these two unsurprisingly looked good and I really enjoyed this. I selfishly wish that it was longer, but it didn’t need to be. Odashima got the submission win with an arm triangle choke. Nice
Eita def. Atsushi Kotoge and Black Menso-re
I am not a fan of 3 Ways or Black Menso-re, so I am glad this match was so short. Eita using a “Paradise Lock,” certainly didn’t do this match any favors. Bad Joke
Team 2000X (Jun Masaoka, Kai Fujimura, Masa Kitamiya & Takashi Sugiura w/ Yoshi Tatsu) def. Lykos Gym (Kid Lykos & Kid Lykos II), Hajime Ohara & Hi69
This was a preview tag for Night 10’s match between Lykos Gym & God’s Chairmen, which should be a good one. Lykos Gym continues to impress me, and I really do hope they stick around for a while. Seguiura pinned Ohara after an “Olympic Slam.” Fun
Los Tranquilos de Japon (BUSHI, RYUSEI & Tetsuya Naito) def. Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) & Yuto Koyanagi
This was another preview tag for Night 10’s A Block decision match between LTJ & Good Brothers. Hey, maybe NOAH’s mystery booker is Gedo? This wasn’t bad with the clear highlight of the match being the performance of the young Yuto Koyanagi. Bushi got the submission win over the rookie with a half crab. Not Bad
After the match I decided to “dry up a lake” and do a Google AI search to find out who is currently booking NOAH. I was told that NOAH has a booking committee and it is led by the head booker, Marufuji. I don’t know, that does sound about right, actually.
All Rebellion (Alejandro & Kaito Kiyomiya) & AMAKUSA def. White Raven Squad (HAYATA & Tetsuya Endo) & Midori Takahashi
This is yet another preview tag for June 7’s final night of A Block matches featuring some of NOAH’s most talented performers. Endo looked good again, and with his recent declaration that he would not be leaving NOAH until he reached the top, it would not surprise me if on June 25, he did just that. Kiyomiya got the pin on Takahashi after a “Shining Wizard.” Okay
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block B Match)
Kenoh & Naomichi Marufuji [6] def. Katsumi Inahata & KENTA [0]
KENTA & Marufuji started this one with some good ol’ fashioned grappling, which was nice to see. It is still weird to me that there is a faction called Team NOAH and these two aren’t in it, but whatever. It was then time for Inahata to prove that he could hang with MaruKEN, and he fared well. Inahata faced Marufuji in his NOAH debut back in January and I love the attention to detail here, as there is an obvious rivalry based on Inahata trying to prove himself against the veteran. I look forward to Inahata getting that win back someday, hopefully. Today was not his day though as Marufuji pinned him after a top rope double stomp from Kenoh. Good
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block B Match)
Stallion Rogers & Yoshiki Inamura [6] def. Passionate RATEL’S (Manabu Soya & Yuki Iino) [6]
This match began with Inamura & Iino literally clashing like bulls, with Inamura standing tall. It wasn’t long though that Passion Max was in control and isolating Rogers. At one point, Rogers suffered a very gnarly-looking bulldog that had me worried he had broken his neck, but he seemed ok. It was soon back to a clash between Iino & Inamura, with Inamura once again coming out on top and getting the pin on Iino after his “DIS CHARGE” splash from the top rope. There was a lot of good tag team cohesion with both teams, and it was a fun watch as both teams are tied at 6 points going into the final night of B Block action on the 13th. Good Stuff
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block B Match)
Team 2000X (OZAWA & Tadasuke w/ Yoshi Tatsu & Jun Masaoka) [4] def. Kazuyuki Fujita & Mohammed Yone [2]
We got the usual Team 2000X interference in this one. At one point the referee was prompted to get into a shoving match with Tatsu outside of the ring after clearly seeing him trip Yone. Why didn’t he then eject Tatsu from ringside? I don’t know, I would have to assume that he is an ineffectual buffoon, what else could I think? Well, this buffoon ended up, of course, getting smooshed between Yone and the turnbuckle, and as he was laid out, Team 2000X took advantage and went on the attack with a cane and a crutch, blah blah blah. OZAWA got the pin after a springboard moonsault to Yone. Forgettable

This is the final night of A Block action, as it will be Good Brothers vs Naito & Bushi, who are tied at 6 points, to determine which team advances to the finals!
Alejandro def. RYUSEI
I have to say, the more I see of Alejandro the more I think he is underrated. He has been a lot of fun to watch on this tour, and I think it would be a good idea for NOAH to have a proper feud between Alejandro & RYUSEI, sooner rather than later. Mask vs Hair, perhaps? Alejandro got the win after a frog splash from the top rope. Good Opener
Atsushi Kotoge, Hajime Ohara & Mohammed Yone def. Eita, Katsumi Inahata & KENTA
This was an absolute House Show Special, with Inahata doing much of the work, and looking impressive again. Yone inevitably defeated Inahata with a “Kinniku Buster.” House Show Special
Team 2000X (Jun Masaoka, Kai Fujimura, OZAWA & Tadasuke w/ Yoshi Tatsu) def. Passionate RATEL’S (Manabu Soya & Yuki Iino), Hiroto Tsuruya & Yuto Koyanagi
This was a preview tag for the final night of the B Block, where Passion Max will take on Real Outcasts. In this match most of the work was done by the rookies, with OZAWA & Tadasuke finishing Koyanagi with double running knees. House Show Special II
Kazuyuki Fujita def. Black Menso-re
The match began with Menso-re charging Fujita, who then clotheslined him, then pinned him in 8 seconds. Still too much Menso-re. 8 Seconds
Kazuyuki Fujita def. Black Menso-re
They couldn’t leave well enough alone and we got a rematch. Menso-re asked for another chance and he got one, this time he lasted 22 seconds before he was pinned after another clothesline. 22 Seconds
Kazuyuki Fujita def. Black Menso-re
Menso-re again asked for a rematch and I bet after that powerbomb from Fujita, that looked brutal, he regretted it. 1 Minute and 4 Seconds
Daiki Odashima, Hi69, Stallion Rogers & Yoshiki Inamura def. AMAKUSA, Kenoh, Midori Takahashi & Naomichi Marufuji
This was another preview tag, as Rogers & Inamura will face Kenoh & Marufuji on the final night of B Block matches on June 13. This was a fine multi-man tag match that encompassed NOAH’s past, present & future, and in my opinion, the future is bright. Inamura pinned Takahashi after a “Muso Slam.” Fine
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block A Match)
Team 2000X (Masa Kitamiya & Takashi Sugiura w/ Yoshi Tatsu) [6] def. Lykos Gym (Kid Lykos & Kid Lykos II) [2]
Kid Lykos & Kitamiya began the match and Lykos’s strategy was to target Kitamiya’s left arm. When the tides turned Kitimiya’s strategy was clearly to target the taped up left leg of Lykos. Hold on to your hats because you aren’t going to believe what I tell you next. They all four brawled on the outside of the ring, of all places, and Kitamiya actually threw Lykos into a bunch of seats at ringside. I am baffled by Team 2000X’s ability to wonder and amaze. When they did make their way back to the ring, Lykos 1 was heavily favoring his leg and the God’s Chairmen “smelled blood” and never lost their focus on his weakness. This match pretty much turned into a 2 on 1, as Lykos II tried his best and even fared well for a bit against the two veterans. He tried but it wasn’t enough as Sugiura pinned Lykos II after an “Olympic Slam.” Solid
Kid Lykos II posted on X following their loss that “Today marks our final match in the NEO Tag League. Being involved in this tournament has been an honor. To be junior heavyweights challenging against the top heavyweights in the world has felt like a very big deal. We have learned so much.”
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block A Match)
White Raven Squad (HAYATA & Tetsuya Endo) [6] def. All Rebellion (Alejandro & Kaito Kiyomiya) [2]
This match was pretty good. They kept it moving at a nice pace, and the crowd seemed to be enjoying themselves. Alejandro was the standout for me personally, especially his interactions with Endo. So, I am adding Tetsuya Endo vs Alejandro to my “fantasy” NOAH card. Endo pinned Alejandro after a “Torture Rack Bomb.” Also Solid
Neo Global Tag League 2026 (Block A Match)
Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) [8] def. Los Tranquilos de Japon (BUSHI & Tetsuya Naito) [6]
The winners of this match will be the winners of the A Block and go on to face whoever wins the B Block, on June 16, in Korokuen Hall to determine the winners of the 2026 Neo Global Tag League!
Personally, if you had asked me who the last two teams were I would want to see in the A Block finals, it would have been these two. If Marufuji is indeed the booker, I think that he is playing it too safe. Having these two in the finals of the block makes sense, but is it interesting? When I am personally watching a tournament, I am always rooting for the best match at the end, and neither of these teams are going to give me that on June 16.
As far as the match, it was ok. At the 10-minute mark, as Naito went for a hurricanrana with Anderson sitting on the top rope, “Machine Gun” reversed it into a powerbomb, so that was impressive. Actually, the last 5 minutes were pretty good, I was just watching this wishing it was any 2 other teams in there. Good Brothers got the win after a “Magic Killer,” to Bushi. Okay
Final Thoughts
