WORLD WONDER RING STARDOM
STARDOM QUEENS DYNASTY
MAY 23, 2026
TOYOTA GOSEI GYMNASIUM
AICHI
Watch: PPV
Running a PPV a month after Yokohama Arena has proven to be a great decision on STARDOM’s part. They haven’t been able to rest on the laurels of a big show, they’ve instead had to retool and turn their attentions towards Queens Dynasty with two number one contenders being decided, Saya Kamitani and Fuwa-Chan continuing their new feud, and three titles on the line to top off the card.
HATE (SAYA KAMITANI & RUAKA) DEF. FUWA-CHAN & SAORI ANOU
Fuwa-Chan’s quest to win over everyone she meets is facing its newest opposition in Saya Kamitani. The two were paired off at a recent Korakuen and took the finishing stretch here. It’s not a terrible idea to pair up post-title Kamitani with the celebrity turned wrestler, Saya herself seems eager to work the storyline as she embodied white belt era Tam at points here, it seems she wants to mak e her own star and run back some of the hits from her own storyline with Nakano from a few years ago. ***1/2
SAYA IIDA DEF. XENA & HANAKO
Very fun match. If you’ve ever wondered what a fast-paced hoss three-way would look like, then this is your answer. it had chop battles, power wrestling, intricate stuff, and flash pins. Iida pinned Xena who is putting together a bit of a losing streak after also dropping a fall to Yuna Mizumori for the High Speed Championship. ***1/2
#1 CONTENDERSHIP
GOD’S EYE (AMI SOREI, HINA & LADY C) DEF. COSMIC ANGELS (AYA SAKURA, YUNA MIZUMORI & NATSUPOI) & MI VIDA LOCA (AKIRA KUROGANE, ITSUKI AOKI & RINA YAMASHITA)
Now only do I love number one contenders matches but I’m a big fan of basically everyone in this match. Every single pairing that got any focus worked well and when things broke down it was an unpredictable, chaotic blur of action. Really fun match that benefitted a lot from the additional stakes of earning a title match.
Ami Sorei got the win over Aya Sakura and will lead the charge for her team against HATE for the Artist of STARDOM titles, she has history with HATE dating back to her comeback last year and failed to beat Konami for the Wonder title so this represents another opportunity for her to get one over on the villanous group. ***3/4
FWC (HAZUKI & KOGUMA) DEF. AZM & EMA MAISHIMA
STARDOM were dealt a tough hand when Miyu Amasaki was ruled out due to illness, down a tag title match they decided to trust in their roster and put Ema Maishima in as a straight swap and gave her a lot of focus. The match was almost as good as a tag title match would have been and the crowd vocally got behind Maishima for her efforts until she eventually succumbed to the chemistry FWC have as Hazuki got the win. The match served an additional purpose as AZM offered Maishima a spot in Neo Genesis, she didn’t accept yet but that’s standard for Taro’s pacing. ***3/4
FUTURE OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
RANNA YAGAMI (C) DEF. KIKYO FURUSAWA
In line with a lot of what Ranna has produced in this future reign but with the technical counter work of Furusawa. They had some very interesting stretches where Kikyo would pull out a new move to attack the striking leg of Yagami but she wasn’t able to handle the striking of Yagami and eventually fell to a submission. Really enjoyable match with the two wrestlers putting their twist on the Future title. ***1/2
#1 CONTENDER WORLD OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
SUZU SUZUKI DEF. MAIKA, NATSUKO TORA & STARLIGHT KID
I repeat. I LOVE number one contenders matches. They provide immediate stakes and reason to invest for me as a viewer and that really helped here. I was playing into every near fall not sure if someone would break things up or if I was about to see someone I really like get a shot at Sayaka Kurara. The four wrestlers chosen were all viable candidates and stylistically were able to play off one another whether it was Tora/Maika hossing, Maika/Suzu brawling, Suzu/ KId picking up the pace or the stylistic matches within those pairings this was a well done match from start to finish.
Suzuki winning is a slight surprise to me, I was expecting Tora to win and get the shot at the next PPV and play into her history with Kurara but as far as V2’s go Suzu guarantees you a good match and there’s room to do some fun Mi Vida Loca vs Cosmic Angels preview tags. ****
WONDER OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
HANAN (C) DEF. BEA PRIESTLEY
Last week, during an Artist of Stardom title match, HATE absolutely destroyed Hanan’s arm, in the process making this one of my most anticipated matches on the card. Priestley was absolutely relentless from start to finish, ripping at Hanan’s arm band and exposing the tape before using this injury to her advantage to control the majority of the match.
The focus was on showcasing Hanan’s fighting spirit as a vulnerable babyface once again and they did an excellent job. As she kicked out of more and more impactful moves the crowd got more onside and were fully behind her by the time she got the win.
I’ve had my criticisms for Hanan at times recently but when the bell rings she can get the job done and Taro Okada is doing everything in his power to make her into the big babyface he sees her as. I do partly worry about Saya Iida as her next challenger as Iida is an immensely popular talent who is among the best sellers in Joshi, she could certainly steal some of Hanan’s thunder depending on how that one pans out. ****1/4
WORLD OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
SAYAKA KURARA (C) DEF. MAKI ITOH
I liked this but didn’t love it. I’m willing to admit that might be my fault as I have yet to really get into an Itoh singles match in her STARDOM run but at times it was Kurara and her were singing from different hymn sheets. There was an attempt at doing some back work to wear the champion down but it never felt like much of a factor when Kurara was hitting her spears at full pace.
Interestingly, Itoh was pretty heavily cheered against the woman who just dethroned Kamitani. It’s not worth making judgments over yet but I’d be interested to see how the crowd reacts for Kurara vs Suzuki and if the new champion is as popular as star as I thought she was coming out of Yokohama Arena. The crowd in Aichi even cheered for Itoh hitting a cheap shot stunner on Kurara after the match. ***1/2
FINAL THOUGHTS
STARDOM continues its strong run of form; their post-Yokohama dip has been staved off this year with strong booking and pacing from top to bottom, as every title in the company has been defended or scheduled to be defended in May. Kamitani starting a new story and the rest of the roster getting matches with stakes is the easiest way to keep the good times rolling as the talent is here in spades, it’s just about using it.
