WORLD WONDER RING STARDOM
STARDOM DREAM QUEENDOM
DECEMBER 29, 2025
RYOGOKU SUMO HALL
TOKYO, JAPAN

Watch: PPV

It’s time for one of STARDOM’s two biggest shows on the calendar as they head to Sumo Hall with Fuwa-Chan, Starlight Kid’s return, and the top two titles on the line. This night could mark a major end for some of STARDOM’s champions and a euphoric night for Cosmic Angels, or STARDOM will seep even further into the darkness as HATE stands tall.

NEO GENESIS (STARLIGHT KID & AZM) DEF. GOD’S EYE (SYURI & TOMOKA INABA)

Starlight Kid returned after a brief absence. This was a pretty simple match, put four of the best in a tag team match and let them loose. Very fun opener that set the tone for the rest of the roster to follow. ***3./4

STARDOM RUMBLE – RINA WINS

This was a decent attempt at the royal rumble style match with entrants and eliminations coming quick enough to never really lag too much. The highlight was the surprise return of STARDOM’s first ace Yuzuki Aikawa who looks as good in-ring as the day she retired and had a fun exchange with Yuria Hime that set up a one-night Aikawa return for a singles match for an upcoming Korakuen Hall show. The final three was Hina, Rina, and Miyu Amasaki with all three looking good, Amasaki has had a pretty nothing year outside of the Artist run but she proved here that she deserves far more from the booking team.

Rina winning is another in her growing catalogue of big wins. They’re slowly but surely building her up to pull the trigger on a big white belt switch. ***

E NEXUS V (MAIKA, XENA, HANAKO & MEGAN BAYNE) VS MI VIDA LOCA (SUZU SUZUKI, BOZILLA, ITSUKI AOKI & RINA YAMASHITA) – DOUBLE COUNT OUT

The action here was good but I felt the match lacked any real heat to it or a central focus to care about. Bozilla and Bayne did some really fun stuff but one is an AEW wrestler who may or may not even be here next month so it was hard to get into that without knowing if it’s getting paid off. I liked the Suzu/Maika stuff at the end as a nod to their battle for the top title a few years ago and the scrappy finish/post-match brawl indicates we could see these two renew their grudge as Maika waits to re-enter the world title picture. The bad finish hurt this one A LOT in my eyes ***1/4

HAZUKI DEF. FUWA-CHAN

Very good re-debut from Fuwa-Chan that showed pretty much everything that made her previous special appearances work. She shows a lot of heart and natural instincts in her matches that gets the crowd invested. This was a real struggle for the former celebrity outsider to prove herself against Hazuki and she put up one hell of a fight to do it, even hitting some brand new moves that all looked good. For Hazuki’s part, she was a natural match leader and never seemed intent on overshadowing Fuwa, instead doing everything she could to make sure the re-debut came off as well as it could. I’m super excited to have Fuwa-Chan back, she’s an absolute natural who could get a rocket push to the top as one of Kamitani’s only equals as far as public attention goes. ***3/4

SAREEE DEF. NATSUPOI

Sareee presumably ends her current run in STARDOM with a win over her close friend Natsupoi. Poi has been in a weird spot this year after Tam’s retirement and turned it into a story of Sareee needing to revive her motivation for pro wrestling. With the way the story was being told, a Natsupoi loss felt possible as they could have a rematch at Sareee’s upcoming anniversary show, or the defeat can be the proof Poi needed that she’s been slacking and motivates her to push back up the card and claim some big wins.

The match itself had some of Sareee’s worst qualities with the slower start, but by the end, they were taking some crazy bumps, and the physicality was off the charts. ****1/4

GODDESS OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
BMI 2000 (RUAKA & NATSUKO TORA) (C) DEF. COSMIC ANGELS (SAYAKA KURARA & AYA SAKURA)

I knew their previous match was holding back to set this one up but I didn’t realise just how much. This one blew their previous effort out of the water, with Ruaka and Tora putting in an exceptional performance as the champions. Aya Sakura got a lot of focus on the opposing team before the team eventually succumbed to the full power of BMI 2000, who continue to look like the dominant party in the tag team division.

Defeat number two of the night for Cosmic Angels, win number two for HATE, is this a pattern or a rug pull? ****

WONDER OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
KONAMI (C) DEF. SAYA IIDA

Saya Iida’s babyface performance in this was exceptional. Her first challenge for either the World or Wonder title ever, in a bid to get revenge for Hanan, made for a crowd desperate to see her win. STARDOM fans have seen Iida climb up the ladder step by step over the years, with her in-ring performances making her undeniable. That kind of organic momentum led to her getting some of the loudest reactions of the entire show and gaining a lot in defeat.

Konami was great once again as the ice-cold submission artist picking apart her opponent. She gave Iida enough to keep the crowd interested while constantly building to the inevitable when Iida succumbed to the onslaught on her limbs. It’s been a real turnaround for Konami in recent months as she is in some of her best form in years and looks set to have a solid reign as Wonder champion.

Keeping tally, that’s win two title defences for HATE so far and the rumble win…Kamitani, over to you. ****1/4

WORLD OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
SAYA KAMITANI (C) DEF. SAORI ANOU

A very interesting match that carried some whisps of Tam Nakano in the layout but was still in line with what Saya Kamitani has done in her reign, just with some more ambition. After a completely dominant start, I began to wonder if Anou would be entirely outdone, but she eventually put Kamitani on the back foot and managed to get some very, very close near-falls as the match progressed.

I liked the physicality down the stretch, the one highlight of STARDOM’s style in recent years was the times it looked and felt like the wrestlers were really hitting one another as hard as possible. We got that here as both wrestlers were wounded and weary, slapping one another in a bid to establish command. The slaps sounded very loud even in the big arena and kicked things into top gear for the closing stretch.

The win completes the arc for the show. Cosmic Angels lost every match tonight, their first big chance to find their best form post-Tam Nakano failed, and I have to imagine this causes some kind of shake-up or revamp after Natsupoi and Saori Anou spoke about their lack of confidence and motivation in recent months.

For HATE, it completes the sweep. Maika’s return prompted her to mention the darkness that has seeped into STARDOM in her absence with HATE having a stranglehold on most of the top titles in the company. The World, Wonder, Goddess, and Artist titles are all in their hold and remain as such coming out of this one. This show saw HATE solidify that grip as their darkness further poisons the company. The kicker being, they didn’t even cheat, they’re simply a dominant force of evil that currently rules over STARDOM with Saya Kamitani at the helm.

This match and show served a pretty big purpose to make us, as fans, wonder who can be the ones to fight back and reclaim the titles from HATE. If Cosmic Angels can’t, it is going to be quite difficult for whoever tries next. ****1/4

FINAL THOUGHTS

I like to think that conventional pro wrestling is never to have all the villains win, but STARDOM hasn’t exactly done conventional in some time. The last month or so has had two common themes brought up by the main characters in STARDOM: first, the Cosmic Angels’ lack of motivation and confidence, and second, Maika’s desire to cleanse the company of the darkness she sees seeping into it. With this show, STARDOM went all in on having their moment where the heroes look all but dead, and the villain is set to win.

HATE swept the show, not by cheating, but through sheer domination and skill as the babyface Cosmic Angels unit and Saya Iida failed to regain a single title. The show ended with an intentional sense of hopelessness to set up a very interesting few months leading into Yokohama Arena in April. Maika’s mission is clear, she’s going to take the company back, now we just have to see who gets to help her along the way.
