If you’re new here, I tend to be on the more negative side of these WWE reviews. The last time I reviewed a WWE show live, I got some…spirited feedback. Between that and my shoot job usually taking up my weekends, these reviews tend to get delayed a few days. So, imagine how I feel, already dreading the time I must invest in these shows, seeing a WWE show get critically obliterated as this Survivor Series show has been.

The Flagship Patreon Instant Reaction was a hilarious spiral into madness as Joe & Rich questioned whether this was the nadir of WWE programming. Cagematch, having suffered from WWE superfans discovering its existence, has this show rated 3.82 out of 10, with dozens of written reviews panning it. The show has been destroyed by all but the most desperate of FedHeads.

But they already watched it. I still have to.

God help me.

WARGAMES MATCH
AJ LEE, ALEXA BLISS, CHARLOTTE FLAIR, IYO SKY & RHEA RIPLEY DEF. BECKY LYNCH, LASH LEGEND, NIA JAX, ASUKA & KAIRI SANE

Entrances, in order: Charlotte Flair & Asuka started, Iyo Sky, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Kairi Sane, AJ Lee, Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Rhea Ripley

Babyfaces had the advantage, because if you’re going to bastardize War Games, you may as well go all the way. This match had the energy of the middle-third of a bad Royal Rumble. People come out, things happen for a little while, then things devolve into passionless punching and kicking for however long until someone else comes out. A lot of hugging, high-fives, and playpen violence, with a visible lack of malice or interest in looking like they wanted to hurt each other. I don’t even remember why this match is happening. Who wanted the cage match? Becky was the focus of the heel side, but she’s been feuding with Mad Maxxine Dupri on Raw.

Lash Legend got the call-up in recent weeks, and the anti-pop she got was notable. Not August 1 Warning levels, but it was up there. Rhea Ripley had an Art the Clown mask. Iyo did the trash can dive like she always does. But, if you’re looking for a positive, they at least had this match end with a surrender. AJ Lee tapped out Becky Lynch with the Black Widow. I’m sure that will earn AJ a shot at the Women’s Intercontinental Titl…wait, Becky lost that belt. Ah well, nevertheless. **

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
DOMINIK MYSTERIO (W/ THE JUDGMENT DAY) DEF. JOHN CENA (C)

I don’t get the Dom thing. I don’t want to get the Dom thing. I’m not wrong about this. He is not good. Everyone knows this. But when someone brings up the fact that Dom isn’t good, which everyone agrees with, they’re met with “Uhh, you’re getting worked, he’s bad on purpose!” Somehow, I’m in the wrong for preferring to see people try to be good at their jobs. No, YOU’RE wrong. Every dipshit in that baseball stadium is wrong. And I will dig a hole and die on this fucking hill if I have to.

We got more worked shoot WWE Unreal bullshit as Dom took a header on a hurricanrana off the barricade, much like Penta did on Raw where he may or may not have gotten injured out of the Cena’s Last Match tournament. Rodriguez & Perez laid out Cena, allowing Dom to hit a 619, but the ref had some guts and didn’t blindly count the pin.

We got a facsimile of a match for a couple of minutes before the ref got bumped. JD McDonagh & Finn Balor came out to interfere, as I remember Finn Balor teasing a split from this group in APRIL. Cena took care of them before Liv Morgan came out. The Allegedly Much-Improved Michael Cole does this new thing where he pretends to say “holy shit” whenever there’s some surprise, and I cannot put it into words how much I fucking hate it.

In a callback to Cena’s heel turn at Elimination Chamber, Liv Morgan pretended to turn on Dom only to kick Cena in the nuts and cost him the title. Why is WWE using LIV MORGAN, the manager of a meme midcarder, to call back John Cena’s heel turn? I couldn’t tell you. In fact, why is WWE calling back to Cena’s heel turn at all? WWE itself retconned it before their last stadium show at SummerSlam, with Cena vaguely blaming The Rock because everything must be his fault. The referee, who not five minutes before this made it clear that he wouldn’t count pins if he suspected bullshit, counted the pin after a ton of bullshit to end John Cena’s final pay-per-view match.

Fuck this match and fuck you if you liked it. You make my hobby worse. DUD

WWE WOMEN’S WORLD TITLE MATCH
STEPHANIE VAQUER (C) DEF. NIKKI BELLA

I was not interested in paying attention after that piece of shit Dom match. This was nothing special, as the crowd doesn’t really care about Vaquer unless she’s doing the Devil’s Kiss, which feels very reductive thanks to the crowd doing Booker T gooner noises. Again, nobody’s got a problem with that? Nobody?

Vaquer won with the Stardust Press. **

Remember New Day? The guys that allegedly had the greatest heel turn of all time about this time last year? They were in the back with [checks roster page] Grayson Waller to do a commercial for the WWE Supercard mobile game. I’m sure this was part of Paul Levesque’s bigger plan. Speaking of which, I’m shocked he hasn’t stuck his beak in at any point on this show. There’s still an hour left, so he’s got time.

WARGAMES MATCH
BROCK LESNAR, DREW MCINTYRE, BRON BREAKKER, BRONSON REED & LOGAN PAUL (W/PAUL HEYMAN) DEF. CM PUNK, CODY RHODES, ROMAN REIGNS & THE USOS

Entrances, in order: CM Punk & Bron Breakker started, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Logan Paul, Jimmy Uso, Bronson Reed, Jey Uso, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns

The first spot of the match was Punk falling down on a lock-up. The announcers told us that Drew McIntyre was suspended for attacking referees, but was in this match anyway because of some loophole found by Paul Heyman. I just wouldn’t have booked him to be suspended, but I’m not a genius like Paul Levesque. Cody Rhodes, the real WWE Champion, came out second to a decent little pop. Both Punk and Cody bled, but not enough or off of any big spot for it to really matter.

Bronson Reed and Jimmy Uso made up the numbers before Jey Uso came out, did three spots, then restarted his music to dance with the crowd. A fun gimmick for a Raw squash match, but not exactly tonally accurate for War Games.

Brock came out and suplexed everyone, because it’s Brock Lesnar in 2025 WWE. Roman Reigns was last, as we got a look at the fresh, new matchup of Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns. Brock left the cage, which we were told would mean a forfeit, but no one even bothered to retcon it. We got some punches with Logan Paul’s brass knuckles before Roman took everyone out. The finish saw some masked guy just…climb into the cage and stomp CM Punk. Who was it? Well, he didn’t unmask, but reports say that it is Austin Theory. Breakker pinned Punk after that.

I love this company finding a way to overshadow the Bron Breakker push again. This time, they did it with an inexplicable attempt to reheat Austin Theory, whose initial push failed almost four years ago and has done nothing of note since. This audience was ready for Breakker to be elevated in April after WrestleMania. The company was handed an opportunity to rocket pack him after Seth Rollins got hurt. They had a chance to point the spotlight on this guy and truly make it clear that he was the next man up ahead of WrestleMania as tickets went on sale this week. Instead, we’re talking about Austin Theory.

Roman Reigns stared down Cody Rhodes to close the show in a lame tease for a potential WrestleMania main event, because god forbid anything new happen in World Wrestling Entertainment. **
