KICKOFF SHOW
ELIMINATION MATCH FOR FUTURE WWE WOMEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
META-FOUR (LASH LEGEND & JAKARA JACKSON) VS. FATAL INFLUENCE (JACY JAYNE & FALLON HENLEY) VS. GIGI DOLIN & TATUM PAXLEY VS. ROXANNE PEREZ & CORA JADE
From a featured feud with Bayley that looked like it was headed to a match at WrestleMania, to the NXT pre-show. A steep fall for one Roxanne Perez. Anyway, I guess Hunter will get back to that here and have Perez and Cora Jade win. Unfortunately, that will mean Cora Jade will be seen on the main roster, and that’s bad news for everybody. Prediction: Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade
MAIN CARD
NXT WOMEN’S TITLE FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH
STEPHANIE VAQUER (C) VS. JORDYNNE GRACE VS. GIULIA VS. JAIDA PARKER
NXT is the worst booked pro wrestling show I’ve ever seen. It’s a nonsensical reality show masquerading as a pro wrestling show. Here is the last month of the NXT Women’s Titles, in exact order:
- Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer challenge each other to a Title vs. Title match for an NXT special in New York
- Word comes out that Giulia is hurt and will have to miss some time
- WWE sources dispute those rumors about Giulia being hurt
- Vaquer beats Giulia clean in New York to hold both the NXT and North American Titles
- Two weeks later, Vaquer successfully defends both her titles in one night on a regular episode of NXT, beating Jaida Parker and Fallon Henley to do it
- The next week, Vaquer vacates the North American Title to “give the other women in the division a chance to perform at Stand & Deliver.” In exchange, she gets to pick her own opponent for the NXT Title at Stand & Deliver.
- Jordynne Grace & Jaida Parker have a defacto #1 contender match that ends in a no contest because…
- Giulia returns, lays everyone out, and demands a rematch for the NXT title
- Vaquer decides to defend against Grace, Parker, and Giulia at Stand and Deliver
- Reports come out that Giulia wasn’t hurt, and that they did the title change because Vaquer had just gotten more over
There’s so much to parse through here. First, what the hell happened with Giulia? The slapdash nature of all of this can be somewhat forgiven if Giulia had an injury or visa issues that put her Mania Weekend status up in the air. But if she wasn’t hurt, and the claim that she had just been surpassed by Vaquer is accurate, then why the fuck did they not just save the big Vaquer/Giulia match for Mania Weekend?
Then, you’ve got Vaquer with both titles, and a nice idea of having her defend both titles in one night. Why not save THAT for Mania Weekend? Ok, you’re putting Vaquer over strong, I get that. WHY HAVE HER VACATE THE NORTH AMERICAN TITLE THE NEXT WEEK? It immediately defines the North American Title down and buries the entire division as Vaquer decides to let them play with one of the toys she doesn’t want anymore.
Then, there’s Stand and Deliver. I get wanting Jordynne Grace in there, as she’s a big signing you want to showcase. I get wanting Jaida Parker in there, as she’s an up-and-coming name in the division that can get over win or loss in a spotlight match with Vaquer. I get wanting Giulia in there, as she’s been the face of the show since the move to the CW. This is where bookers have to make the tough decisions. To quote Don Draper, this is what the money is for. Make the decision instead of doing the cowardly, messy four-way just to get everybody booked.
It’s hard to assume what the plan is for NXT given the four paragraphs I’ve just written, but I’ll say that they’ll have Parker win the title here and have Grace chase the title going into the summer months. Prediction: Jaida Parker
LADDER MATCH FOR THE VACANT NXT WOMEN’S NORTH AMERICAN TITLE
IZZI DAME VS. ZARIA VS. SOL RUCA VS. KELANI JORDAN VS. LOLA VICE VS. THEA HAIL
Meanwhile, all the losers who couldn’t beat Stephanie Vaquer or Giulia fight here for the title that Vaquer didn’t care enough to defend anymore. And it’s a ladder match, why not? Who cares? Who gives a fuck? Prediction: It Doesn’t Matter
NXT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
NATHAN FRAZER & AXIOM (C) VS. HANK WALKER & TANK LEDGER
Hank & Tank hadn’t won a match on television since December. But they won a gauntlet match on the go-home show, so they’re here. I don’t know what the endgame here is with Fraxiom, as they feel like NXT Super Seniors, but are more likely to end up as the New Catch Republic than the New Day on the main roster. I’ll just pick them to retain. Prediction: Frazer & Axiom
NXT NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH
RICKY SAINTS (C) VS. ETHAN PAGE
Ricky Starks Saints is NXT’s latest “win” over AEW, and they are parading him around as such. He won the North American Title from Shawn Spears and will be defending the title here against Ethan Page. No, this is not the back end of a 2023 Rampage, this is NXT. Ethan Page is what he is, a career midcarder that iced this brand when it was on a legitimate ratings hot streak last spring with his arrival and cooled off the two guys he was theoretically here to put over. Saints might have a main roster future, but the way they’ve rolled him out for his debut by having him wander out of the crowd on a random NXT episode isn’t the most promising of starts. Either way, expect Starks to get the win in a professional wrestling match with two professional wrestlers. Prediction: Ricky Saints
THE D’ANGELO FAMILY (TONY D’ANGELO, CHANNING “STACKS” LORENZO, LUCA CRUSIFINO) VS. DARKSTATE (CUTLER JAMES, DION LENNOX & SAQUON SHUGARS) (W/ OSIRIS GRIFFIN)
NXT’s newest mystery group is Darkstate. To learn more about them, let’s watch this actual segment from the show with the D’Angelo Family scouting them.
Tony D’Angelo and “Stacks” have had issues with each other, so expect a heel turn and some long staring as “Stacks” turns on the Family. Hopefully, he doesn’t end up dead like the one guy who ended up in AEW. Prediction: DarkState
NXT TITLE MATCH
OBA FEMI (C) VS. TRICK WILLIAMS VS. JE’VON EVANS
NXT is the worst booked pro wrestling show I’ve ever seen. In the span of a year, Trick Williams went from a white-hot, ratings-moving babyface to a man almost certain to turn heel during or soon after this show. Trick Williams won the NXT Title, then spent a year trading pins with Ethan Page, Ridge Holland, and Eddy Thorpe. Shockingly, that didn’t work out for him, and now he’s notably cooler off and acting like a dick to Je’Von Evans for no reason.
Meanwhile, Je’Von Evans just loses and gets his ass kicked all the time. He came onto the scene as NXT’s next big thing last year, spending the year trading wins in NXT’s midcard. In 2025, after presumably being penciled into the main event of what is nominally the biggest NXT show of the year, Evans has:
- Lost to Ethan Page at Vengeance Day after an injury angle
- Teamed with Ricky Saints as he won a tag match
- Beat Ethan Page at Roadblock (End of the Line) before immediately getting beaten up by Darkstate
- Losing to LEXIS KING by countout because Oba Femi kicked his ass
- Losing to Darkstate in a six-man tag because his partners Oba Femi and Trick Williams brawled to the back
Trick Williams is most likely leading DarkState as the big SWERVE to end the show. They’ve beaten him up in the build, but it’s NXT. There’s no logic to anything. Trick Williams will win the NXT Title, run as a heel, and Je’Von Evans will continue to get his ass kicked before eventually winning the belt one day.
Oh yeah, Oba Femi is here too. He’s really good, I think he’ll be a star one day. There’s a silver lining for you. Prediction: Trick Williams
