Our match of the week is Samoa Joe defending the ROH World Title vs Austin Aries, on December 26, 2004, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (ROH).
With this being Final Gate week, I thought it would be fun to ask resident Dragongate expert/historian Case Lowe to choose this week’s match. Due to a typo in my invitation (because I’m a big ol’ dope), Case ended up choosing a Final BATTLE match instead of something Final Gate related. Ah well, nevertheless.
My typo turned out to be a happy accident, as Case, who also happens to be an ROH expert/historian, gifted us a Final Battle classic that not only is one of the most important matches in ROH history, but one that also happens to fall on December 26, making today the 18th Anniversary.
