In this edition of The Deep Dive, Joe and Rich at what was to be one of the biggest tag team feuds in history: The Midnight Express (Stan Lane, Bobby Eaton & James E. Cornette) vs. The Original Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey, Randy Rose & Paul E. Dangerously).
Of course, things don’t always go according to plan!
As we do on The Deep Dive, we’ll go back to 1980 and the formation of The Original Midnight Express, their moves throughout the territory days, Condrey’s mysterious departure, and finally, the infamous angle in November 1988 kicking off the feud.
We’ll look at highlighted matches from the feud and a series of fantastic promos from Cornette and Dangerously. Unfortunately, the entire feud ended amidst turmoil in WCW’s booking and ownership.
