This week on Wrestling Omakase we review a great night of the G1 and the biggest show of the year from Tokyo Joshi!

John is joined by returning guest Hayley (@choerrycolured) as they start in the only obvious fashion: talking at length about Revolutionary Girl Utena, a 24 year old shoujo anime series. Okay, not obvious at all of course, but John just finished watching it and Hayley’s seen it too, so there’s some major discussion to be had here (spoiler warning of course!). Once that’s out of the way they get into Night 13 of the G1 Climax, a very strong A block show featuring Hiromu vs. Ishii, Ibushi vs. O-Khan, KENTA vs. ZSJ and more. Also on the topic of New Japan, they talk about some surprising recent merchandise rankings, whether or not the Japanese fans have turned on EVIL, and a whole lot more.

Then attention is turned to Tokyo Joshi for their biggest show of the year, Wrestle Princess II from Ota Ward Gym. John & Hayley review all eight matches, starting with an awesome top two title contests. They delve into the story of Miyu Yamashita vs. Maki Itoh and whether or not the result was obvious, discuss some absolutely amazing entrances, and get sidetracked on the 48 idol groups again. Plus, a weird AEW/Speed metaphor. This episode really has it all.
