When it comes to the WWE calendar, there are certain events that stand out each year, and there will already be excitement about the prospect of what WrestleMania 37 will bring.

Before that, there’s something else to look forward too, with Royal Rumble on the horizon. The event is established as one of the traditional ‘big four’ in the sport, and it’s something that will intrigue the fans, as they wait to see who will last the distance on January 31st in Florida. A quick look at the latest Royal Rumble odds has Daniel Bryan as the clear 6/5 favourite.
It’s easy to see why. Firstly, he was the first man to declare that he would be involved in the event. However, Bryan is someone who has delivered on the highest stage in the game over the years, which includes the iconic victory over Randy Orton and Batista to land the World Heavyweight Championship.
Interestingly, Bryan has also shone on this stage before, with his 76-minute effort in the 2018 Greatest Royal Rumble a record that still exists to this day. That saw him eclipse the 62 minutes that Rey Mysterio spent in the ring back in 2006, which shows what a feat it was. Plus, it’s a record that’s likely to stand the test of time, as 50 stars were involved in that Rumble a few years back, when Bryan entered at number two.
Of course, it’s not going to be easy for Bryan, and the level of competition is fierce. Keith Lee and Big E will present formidable challengers for the win if they participate, whilst fans will be expecting big things from Goldberg and Roman Reigns this year as well if they are involved.
Yet, this is one that will mean a lot to the American Dragon. As touched upon, he has a rich history in the WWE, and a remarkable story, winning the main title and several other prestigious events, including the Money in the Bank Ladder match.
But, the one that has eluded him so far in his career has been the Royal Rumble. So, the chance to re-assert himself as one of the main men is going to be a driving force for Bryan later this month, and he knows what lies in store if he can emerge victorious.

That’s because a win at Tropicana Field will provide Bryan with a world title shot at WrestleMania 37, which is a chance for him to get back to the top of the game. Whether he can take that opportunity remains to be seen, and it’s certainly going to make for entertaining viewing as we wait to find out.
Ultimately, 2021 has the potential to be a huge year for Daniel Bryan, and you can be sure that he will be making headlines throughout. Staying the distance to secure his first Royal Rumble could be the springboard for further success, as Bryan looks to rule at WrestleMania further down the line to continue his remarkable journey after his injury.
