This week on Wrestling Omakase we talk an excellent show in the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors and a pretty good one from the DDT D-Ou GP, plus we take a dive through the history of IWGP Tag Team Champions and more!

The Wrestling Omakase Patreon is covering three big tournaments well into December: NJPW’s World Tag League and Best of the Super Juniors, and DDT’s D-Ou! We’re in the home stretch now but all of the shows this upcoming week will be covered on the Patreon, so don’t miss a second of the action! Coming up in December as well: our new 1 Match series covering every Tokyo Dome main event in chronological order, and our annual Year in Review series will see some action on the Patreon too! Patrons can also vote in their own Omakase Year-End Awards! Plus you can get access to all of our previous coverage including daily audio from the recent G1 Climax, complete series covering every Okada-Tanahashi & Naito-Ishii match in chronological order, random match reviews submitted by patrons covering everything from late 80s UWF, early 90s WAR, early 00s AJPW and more, exclusive full 5 Matches episodes you can’t get on the free feed, ANIME OMAKASE and a whole lot more! You can get access to all it right now for only $5 at www.patreon.com/wrestlingomakase!

John is joined by returning guest TJ (@aspir_) from the One Wrestling Podcast (@onewrestlingpod) as they start with what’s new lately (not much, obviously) and then move quickly into these two shows, starting with the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Night 6. The two of them break down a great show, easily the best of the tournament so far, including an excellent Hiromu-Eagles main event and a whole lot more. Plus they discuss some of their favorite and least favorite performers in the tournament so far in general.

Then they head over to DDT to break down Night 4 of their annual D-Ou Grand Prix, which thankfully is quite a bit better than nights 2 or 3, thanks mostly to an excellent Endo-Ueno match. They break down all the matches on the card including some funny comedy stuff and also discuss why Konosuke Takeshita’s tournament isn’t really working for them right now.

Finally, they wrap things up with a brief mailbag, including a great question- “Dangerous Tekkers are the best tag champions in NJPW since (blank)”. This question sends them on a long trip back through NJPW’s quite inglorious heavyweight tag team champion history to find the answer!
