Real World Tag League 2020 Match
Enfants Terribles (Kuma Arashi & Shotaro Ashino) [6] def. Purple Haze (Shigehiro Irie & Izanagi) [0]

A very fun match overall. The main part of the match was Arashi and Irie trading hoss spots, which was a ton of fun. All Japan has done a good job of rehabbing Kuma Arashi after he nearly went winless in the Champion Carnival (though everyone probably prefers forgetting that that tournament happened anyway). I doubt that the Purple Haze team would have gone winless with Zeus so his illness likely caused quite a bit of rebooking. Nevertheless, Irie and Izanagi have good chemistry as a team. All of their matches so far have been pretty good and this was no exception. Another solid win for the Enfants team who have a clear shot at winning this tournament.

Real World Tag League 2020 Match
Violent Giants (Suwama & Shuji Ishikawa) [4] def. JIN (Jake Lee & Koji Iwamoto) [4]

This was one of the best matches of the tournament on paper and it delivered on that for the most part. The match took a while to get going as the Violent Giants are starting to lose a step in tag matches as well, which is worrying. But once they got going the match got really good as well. The match followed the expected structure early on as the Giants were mostly working over Iwamoto and Jake coming in for a hot tag. From there on the match got into another gear though. Koji Iwamoto started to get a ton more offense, and especially Suwama started to give him a lot. He even got very close to submitting the Triple Crown champion with an armbar and Suwama just about managed to get to the ropes. While he did get pinned in the end, this was actually an elevation for Iwamoto who showed that he can be a serious threat for even top heavyweights. After the match Suwama and Jake brawl, and it looks like we will get Jake’s customary New Years War title challenge.

Real World Tag League 2020 Match
Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi [2] def. Team ECW (Masato Tanaka & Tajiri) [2]

I still can’t believe that Tanaka and Tajiri are just coming out to the ECW theme. It is just so bizarre especially in 2020, which is nearly 20 years after ECW ended. I doubt many people in Japan even know what ECW is. But I have actually enjoyed their matches. They bring a bit of a different style, which is a nice change of pace. It helps that Masato Tanaka is still as great as ever and even Tajiri has given it a bit more of an effort than he normally does. I hope that they include Tanaka in next year’s Champion Carnival as he could have a great singles match with Kento as they showed great chemistry here.

The finish of the match was quite something though. First Yuma gets pulled under the ring by Tajiri and covered in mist. Then Kento gets pulled under as well and covered in red mist. At first, I thought he actually bladed and got opened pretty badly on the Muta scale, but it turned out be just mist. Then he gets put through a table on the outside by Tanaka. But while all of that is happening Yuma just taps out Tajiri in the ring. A good and enjoyable match overall and really sums up the show as a whole.

Final Thoughts

A very enjoyable show from All Japan. None of the matches were necessarily must-see but they were all good and at just over two hours the show flew by as well. Give this show a watch if you find yourself with nothing to do on a dark and gloomy November evening and it’ll be sure to cheer you up.
