This week on Wrestling Omakase we discuss a big tripleheader of tournament action in a Patreon-exclusive full episode!

John is joined by VOW contributor Thomas Fischbeck (@rasslinratings), a longtime Omakase guest who’s making his Patreon debut. John and Thomas talk a little about the weather (I dunno, I guess neither of us have much going on right now, we’re still in a pandemic what can we say!) and then go straight into reviews of three wrestling shows, starting with Night 3 of the NJPW G1 Climax 30. John and Thomas disagree sharply on a few of these matches which makes for interesting audio, but they both agree that Okada vs. Yujiro sucked, so we break down why and talk some more about IS OKADA BROKEN DOWN-GATE. They also happen to agree that Jay White vs. Kota Ibushi ruled and break that down, but then give very different takes on Will Ospreay vs. Tomohiro Ishii. Plus of course John loved Taichi vs. Suzuki. Are you really surprised?

Afterward they turn their attention to NOAH, who put on a day/night doubleheader in the N-1 Victory tournament. They start with the afternoon show, breaking down some matches like Nakajima vs. Taniguchi that defied expectations. Then they turn their attention to the evening show, and one of the major topics ends up being not any tournament matches but another big turn in NOAH’s famously convoluted junior division. Who turned on who this time? Who the hell can keep track of this stuff? And does anyone else remember KOTOGE’S CAPE??? But they also talk some great matches in the N-1 itself, most notably Go vs. Mochizuki in a real old school puro clash of champion vs. outsider. It’s a fun show full of great tournament action!
