It’s almost WrestleMania 2011 time, but before DGUSA hit Atlanta, they make a stop in Mike Spears territory in Burlington, NC at the Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium on 4/1/2011 for “Open the Southern Gate!”
Before Case and Mike get into the first show of the Mania Weekend Triple Shot, they take a look at a very impactful March in the Dragon System. Ronin finally gets to go to Japan! Gabe announces both a Stable Shootout and a Breakout Challenge for “Open the Southern Gate.” Dragon Gate is gearing up for their 2011 Sumo Hall show before the earthquake and tsunami of 3/11/2011 hits Japan and changes everything. Case and Mike take you through the reporting from when it happened, including accounts from wrestlers in Japan during one of the most devastating disasters in recent history, and how it changed Dragon Gate both in 2011 and forever.
After that, they get into “Open the Southern Gate” with one of Mike’s least favorite matches in DGUSA history, the perplexing way Jon Moxley’s last weekend in DGUSA began, and the Stable Shootout and Breakout Challenge main evented by the Dream Partners match of Ricochet and PAC facing Chuck Taylor and Akira Tozawa!
