Concert venues and sporting arenas have been hit particularly hard by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic — so much so it’s estimated that up to 90% of independent concert/music venues may close as a result. Even venues and arenas owed by larger companies are dealing with their own struggles as well as an uncertain near and long-term future for large-scale crowd gatherings.
Today, the news dropped that Uniondale, New York’s Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum will be “shuttered indefinitely” as the facility owner—Onexim Sports and Entertainment—looks for new investors and operators.
If the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum (or, Nassau Coliseum for short) never re-opens, it will leave behind a tremendous legacy in pro wrestling.
