REAL WORLD TAG LEAGUE 2019 MATCH
KAI & TAJIRI [10] DEF. JOE DOERING & JUN AKIYAMA [8] (5:29)
Yes, you read that match time right. This will probably end up as the shortest match in the tournament.
Match started with Akiyama and Doering walking to the ring and then KAI hitting a Tope Suicide on to Akiyama but that was the only big spot of this match.
Akiyama was dominating TAJIRI but KAI came in and hit a Enziguri on Akiyama that allowed TAIRI to get an Inside Cradle for the win. This was a lot lot of nothing but Akiyama looked good in a couple spots. This was not actively bad but will go down as one of the weakest matches of the tournament. **
REAL WORLD TAG LEAGUE 2019 MATCH
ZEUS & RYOUJI SAI [7] DEF. VIOLENT GIANTS (SUWAMA & SHUJI ISHIKAWA) [10] (20:13)
This started off slow with some mat wrestling from Ishikawa which I think was a tease that this might go to a 30 minute draw.
Sai got his left leg worked over and sold it quite well. Things eventually picked up with SUWAMA and Zeus who went hard at each other.
The match built well with bigger and bigger spots getting hit as well as having Sai have his leg work into the story of the match at points. Sai pinned Ishikawa after a Running Knee to a seated Ishikawa. Sai was even selling his leg after the match, having a hard time standing back up. Zeus again was the star here just throwing around the Violent Giants and doing stuff like a Frog Splash. This was pretty good, but not quite as good as their tag title match from September. ***3/4
FINAL THOUGHTS
While there one more show before the final show at Korakuen Hall on Monday, the results of that show do not really matter that much because Lee & Nomura will be getting a forfeit win over Daisuke Sekimoto & The Bodyguard to move them to 10 points.
So here’s the scenario going into Monday. Only KAI & TAJIRI, Violent Giants and Lee & Nomura are still in this. Violent Giants and KAI & TAJIRI are facing each other so that match could determine the winner. Lee & Nomura face Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi who have been eliminated. Lee & Nomura must win if they want to have a chance of winning the tournament.
All Japan does not have tie-breakers in their tournaments like New Japan, so if Lee and Nomura win they will face the winners of Violent Giants vs. KAI & TAJIRI in a playoff final even though they have lost to Violent Giants and defeated KAI & TAJIRI.
