WORLD TAG LEAGUE MATCH
Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa (18) Def. Shota Umino & Ayato Yoshida (0)

Sorry dear readers, but I don’t want to talk about this match. It was the same opener that I’ve seen 11 times now, maybe even more boring. G.O.D are a multi-talented team, these talents include; sometimes having very exciting matches and sometimes putting me to sleep. This match utilized the latter skillset. **1/4

WORLD TAG LEAGUE MATCH
Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi (4) Def. Hangman Page & Yujiro Takahashi (8)

Nope, not reviewing this one either. There’s nothing technically bad about them it’s just they are the exact same matches with some small amount of spice added from their opponents. Yujiro got pinned…lol. **1/4

WORLD TAG LEAGUE MATCH
ZSJ & Taichi (12) Def. Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan (6)

A perfectly respectable house show match that the live crowd was into. Better than the first two matches. Hangman did a very funny impression of Kojima’s “icchauzo bakayaro” catchphrase. **3/4

WORLD TAG LEAGUE MATCH
Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith (16) Jr. Def. Togi Makabe & Toa Henare (8)

Henare was really good in this match. He played the perfect good guy, to the big bad Suzuki Gun bullies. You really ride all his little comebacks. Like Ishii, his offense is simple but believable ***

WORLD TAG LEAGUE MATCH
Michael Elgin & Jeff Cobb (14) Def. Minoru Suzuki & Takashi Iizuka (10)

There were a few matches in a row that Iizuka was entertaining, that streak ended here. Unless you are 3 or 4 teams in this tournament (spoiler: they haven’t wrestled on this show yet) my enthusiasm for these matches are waning. **3/4

WORLD TAG LEAGUE MATCH
Beretta & Chuckie T (12) Def. Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano (16)

I really liked this. The comedy was goofy but funny and it also made sense because these guys are all stablemates. Beretta and Chuckies chat throughout the match were also very funny. A hot closing stretch and some more subtle Chuckie weirdness puts this in the recommended viewing column. ***1/2

WORLD TAG LEAGUE MATCH
Juice Robinson & David Finlay (14) Def. EVIL & SANADA (16)

This was very good stuff! Good, fast-paced action and a surprising winner. Finlay had some cool moments when he hit EVIL with the EVIL and put SANADA in the skull end. Juice is so good and so over and should be the 2nd pushed gaijin in the company (if he isn’t already). EVIL and SANADA are making a good case for team of the tournament. Add this to the list of matches you should watch.

Final Thoughts:

Last two matches are very good, otherwise nothing all that must watch. There are only 6 teams eligible to make finals now, which make a lot of these matches feel redundant. One block of 14 is just a slog; I think two blocks of 6 teams would be optimal. Looking forward to final three nights, they’re live shows and I’m excited to hear how Excalibur does on commentary. My money is on better than Lanny.
