Watch: Stardom World

Kaori Yoneyama & Ruaka Def. Rina, Hina & Hanan

This is only the third time we have seen the Hanan Sisters team up so they are still on the process of getting people familair witht heir signature offense, such as the triple submission spot.  Ruaka got the win by pinning Hanan which is suprising given Hanan has two pin eaters for her. **

Future Of Stardom
Starlight Kid (c) Def. Natsumi

Natsumi was trying her damndest to roll Starlight Kid up.  After teaming for the Goddesses tag league the two former partners had a repectful match up.  The result was never in doubt as the tag league built up Kid much more than Natsumi but I did buy into one or two of Natsumi’s roll-ups.  **

Saki Kashima & Tam Nakano Def. Bea Priestley & Chardonnay

Parts of this were sloppy, such as the finish, but mostly it was fine. Queens Quest UK was finishing their tour so they were always going to put over their opponents.  **

Kagetsu & Hazuki Def. Mary Apache & Hana Kimura

This was on the way to being another typical Kimura and Apache match until Kagetsu came in to fight Kimura, just one month ago those two went to war for the red belt and neither has forgotten the hatred they have for one another. Once we got Hana vs Kagetsu the match really picked up with Kimura looking like she was trying for the first time since her heel turn, Apache and Hazuki were solid as usual. I might be reading too much into it but Hazuki rolling up Apache might put her in High Speed Title contention. If she is then we get a rematch of their good match from last months Korakuen

Mayu Iwatani & Arisa Hoshiki vs Konami & AZM

I went into this match with very high expectations of a kick off between Konami and Arisa. That was probably the biggest issue I had with this match, Arisa has not wrestled since 2012 and she grew into this match.  She looked awkward and quite green early on which took me out of the match a little. By the end though she had grown into it and looked quite good.  We got what we expected with Konami, AZM and Iwatabi who all delivered and helped Hoshiki look as good as possible. Given a few more matches and time to get used to being back in a ring and Arisa Hoshiki could prove to be a great addition to the Stardom roster.

Goddesses Of Stardom
Momo Watanabe & Utami Hayashishita Def. J.A.N (Jungle Jyona & Natsuko Tora) (c)

The winners of the Goddesses Of Stardom face the champions in their first defense. This was less of a tag match and more two singles matches that would occasionally pause to refresh. Tora and Watanabe were paired off as they made sure the intensity didn’t drop. Where this match really got me was Utami vs Jungle Kyona. Those two ladies do not like one another and they spent most of this match throwing everything they had at one another. Kyona made it clear before the match that she wanted to defend these titles and to defeat Utami especially. Despite her best efforts, Kyona was defeated by the super rookie as Utami Hayashishita captures gold just three months on from her Stardom debut. Jungle Kyona and Utami Hayashishita is a grudge that will be used in Stardom for years and is the sort of storytelling that makes Puroresu so fantastic. The Ace Momo becomes a double champion as Miss Korakuen delivers a W once again in the main event spot. ***3/4

Post Match:  Natsuko Tora decides to go her own way and encourages Kyona to do the same,  Utami Hayashishita wants to join Queens Quest, which gets a big reaction,
