NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING
ROAD TO POWER STRUGGLE 2018
OCTOBER 23, 2018
TOTTORI INDUSTRIAL GYMNASIUM
TOTTORI, CHŪGOKU, JAPAN

Watch: NJPW World

The Road to Power Struggle runs through the Tottori Industrial Gymnasium as the Super Junior Tag League rolls on! This was a single-cam show, so only the Super Jr. Tag League matches made tape. Here were the other results.

  • Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI & Shingo Takagi) defeat Ayaoto Yoshida & Yuya Uemura
  • Best Friends (Beretta & Chuckie T) defeat Tomoaki Honma & Yota Tsuji
  • El Soberano Jr., Volador Jr., & Ren Narita defeat Jushin Thunder Liger, Tiger Mask, & Shota Umino
  • CHAOS (Hirooki Goto & Tomohiro Ishii) defeat Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki & TAKA Michinoku)
  • BULLET CLUB (Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi) defeat Hiroshi Tanahashi & Toa Henare
  • BULLET CLUB (Bad Luck Fale, Gedo, Jay White, Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) defeat CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada, Rocky Romero, SHO, Toru Yano & YOH)

SUPER JUNIOR TAG LEAGUE 2018
EL DESPERADO & YOSHINOBU KANEMARU (4) DEF. TAIJI ISHIMORI & ROBBIE EAGLES (4)

This was as fine as fine could be. Robbie Eagles took up the Will Ospreay mantle of screaming babyface in peril on this show, as Despy worked over his leg with a chair. There just wasn’t too much steam for this one, which can be expected with two heel teams. Kanemaru catches Eagles with the Suntori Surprise whiskey-spit to the face, allowing Despy to get the roll-up and a desperately needed win for the Jr. Champs. **1/2

SUPER JUNIOR TAG LEAGUE 2018
CHRIS SABIN & KUSHIDA (4) DEF. SUPER-69 (2)

This was pretty good. Sabin and KUSHIDA work together well, which isn’t surprising considering the Alex Shelley link between them. As per usual in the Super-69 matches, the match is better when ACH is in there. Sabin and KUSHIDA hit the old Timesplitters finisher, but to my surprise, Taguchi broke up the pin. KUSHIDA ended up getting the win by himself with the Surfboard Lock on ACH. A fine match, but nothing to go out of your way to see. ***

FINAL THOUGHTS

There is absolutely nothing to see here. These were two decent tag matches that I will forget I watched by the end of the week.
