Another month down and heading into the summer busy period here is June’s Power Rankings. As always, we are following our usual criteria which is as follows

  • Wrestlers win/loss records during the previous month
  • The position of the match on the card (a win in the main event is worth more points than a win in the opening match. A Loss in the main event minuses less points than losing in the opening match of the night.)
  • PPV and TV Show wins are worth more points than house shows
  • Title match wins and losses are also worth more points.

1. Pete Dunne (WWE)

A big month for the reigning WWE United Kingdom Champion… The United Kingdom Tournament was focused around the chance to receive a title shot against the Bruiserweight… On Night One he teamed with his British Strong Style partners Trent Seven and Tyler Bate to defeat the Undisputed Era trio of Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong… He faced and defeated the UK Tournament winner Zack Gibson in an excellent match in the Main Event of Night Two… British Strong Style again teamed to defeat Josh Alexander and The Besties in the World (Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett) at PROGRESS Chapter 72: Got Got Need on the 6/24… Dunne is the second longest reigning Champion in WWE as of this moment but with Brock Lesnar rarely defending his title Dunne should be considered the Iron Man of WWE

2. Braun Strowman (WWE)

The Monster Amongst Men may have had his best month yet in WWE in June… Defeated Bobby Roode on the 6/4 RAW… Again, defeated Roode in a Fatal Four Way which also included Finn Balor and Kevin Owens on the 6/11 RAW… Captured the Money in the Bank Briefcase in an excellent MITB match featuring Roode, Balor, Owens, Kofi Kingston, Rusev, Samoa Joe and The Miz… Teamed with Owens to defeat the team of Balor and Baron Corbin on the 6/25 RAW… 

3. Gran Guerrero (CMLL)

Guerrero is definitely seen as one of the main men in CMLL… Having main evented their 84th Anniversary Show he continues being pushed as one of their top RUDOs… Different trios of his faction Los Guerreros Laguneros were successful in seven televised trios matches against teams made up of Angel de Oro, Atlantis, Titan, Niebla Roja and a number of combinations from El Sky Team… Los GUerreros Laguneros are due a shot at El Sky Team’s (Mistico, Valiente and Volador Jr) CMLL World Trios Titles in July

4. Punishment Martinez (ROH)

The big man from New York has had his most successful month ever… At ROH State of the Art Night One he teamed with Bully Ray and Shane Taylor to defeat Cheeseburger, Delirious and Shane Helms… On Night Two of State of the Art he successfully pinned Cheeseburger in a ROH Television Title Proving Ground match also including Hangman Page, Jonathan Gresham, Scorpion Sky and the Champion Silas Young… Straight after the Proving Ground Match Martinez defeated ROH Television Champion Young after hitting a chokeslam… He successfully defended his new title against Hangman Page in a Street Fight at ROH Best in the World 2018

5. Caristico (CMLL)

The Former Sin Cara Azul moved up eight places in our Power Rankings this month… Teamed with Flyer and Mistico to defeat La Sangre Dinamita (Forastero and Sanson) and Ultimo Guerrero on the 6/1 Super Viernes… Again teamed with Mistico and joined by Rey Fenix to defeat Guerrero and the La Peste Negros team of El Barbaro Cavernio and Negro Casas on the 6/8 Super Viernes… Defeated Dragon Lee on the 6/15 Super Viernes in Lee’s return from Japan…  On the 6/22 Super Viernes Teamed with Atlantis and Stuka Jr to defeat Los Guerreros Laguneros (Euforia and Guerrero) and La Bestia Del Ring… Teamed with El Sky Team (Valiente and Volador Jr) to defeat the visiting team of Klan Kaoz (CIbernetico, Charly Manson and The Chrizh) on the 6/29 Super Viernes… Still the number one draw in Mexico and CMLL

6. The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) (ROH)

The 17-year veterans are the reigning ROH World Tag Team Champions… They successfully defended their belts again Roppongi 3K (SHO and YOH) on the 6/9 ROH on Sinclair… On Night Two of ROH State of the Art Jay and Mark defeated the Killer Elite Squad (Davey Boy Smith Jr and Lance Archer… At ROH Best of the World 2018 “Dem Boys” defeated reigning IWGP Tag Team Champions the Young Buck (Nick and Matt Jackson)… Still the men to beat in the Ring of Honor Tag Division

7. Volador Jr (CMLL)

The talented Luchadore is one of the top Technico’s in Mexico’s oldest promotion… Teamed with his Uncle LA Park and his nephew Flyer to defeat the Los Ingobernables trio of El Terrible, La Bestia Del Ring and Rush on the 6/1 and 6/8 Super Viernes… With his Cousin El Hijo de LA Park and Rey Fenix they defeat the Peste Negra Trio of El Barbaro Cavernario, Mr Niebla and Negro Casas on the 6/22 Super Viernes… With his El Sky Team partner Valiente and Caristico to defeat the visiting team of Klan Kaoz (Cibernetico, Charly Manson and The Chrizh) on the 6/29 Super Viernes

8. Alexa Bliss (WWE)

Little Miss Bliss is still proving to be the central hub of WWE women’s wrestling… Became the second-ever female Money in the Bank winner when she defeated Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Ember Moon, Lana, Naomi, Natalya and Sasha Banks… Shocked the world by cashing in the briefcase on Nia Jax during her match again Rhonda Rousey to capture her third WWE RAW Women’s Championship… 

9. Hiromu Takahashi (NJPW)

The ticking TIMEBOMB had an absolutely amazing June… Defeated old rival KUSHIDA on the 6/3 Best of the Super Junior show to qualify for the final… Defeat Taiji Ishimori in a match of the year contender to win his first Best of the Super Juniors… Faced and defeated IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay at Dominion to start his second reign as champion… Had his first successful title defence against El Desperado on the 6/18 Kizuna Road show… Teamed with Tetsuya Naito to face the Golden Lovers at the controversial CEO X NJPW When Worlds Collide Show…
