After a month of tense and much-debated voting, VOW Match Madness has its first winner – Shinsuke Nakamura. After having built his reputation in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Nakamura now represents WWE NXT. You voted, making your voices heard on who your favorite pro wrestler of the current time is. VOW Match Madness Final
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kevin Owens in the finals of Match Madness, gaining 72% of the vote to Owens’ 28%. Nakamura’s toughest test came when he squared off with AJ Styles in the Sweet Sixteen. While Kazuchika Okada looked like a surefire candidate to make the Finals, Nakamura upset Okada in the Final Four just says after Okada had lost the IWGP Heavyweight Title in New Japan. Could Okada’s loss have played a factor? Is Nakamura’s higher profile in the US now, after his NXT debut, the reason for victory? Maybe a combination of both, or maybe just Nakamura is the more popular star period.
