It’s back!
After the success of our well-renowned New Japan Pro Wrestling G1 Climax Pick’Em and the surprising buzz surrounding last year’s New Japan Cup Pick’Em, we’ve decided to dust off the pick’em game once again.
For those who are new to NJPW, The New Japan Cup is an annual single-elimination tournament. The winner of the tournament receives a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship but can also choose to challenge for the IWGP Intercontinental and NEVER Openweight Championships as well.
Below are some of the rules as well as the part you’re really excited about — prizes!
Rules
Note that we will ONLY accept entries via our official selection spreadsheet. You will have to download the sheet (included in link form when you complete the form below), open it in Excel/OpenOffice/Google Sheets etc., fill it out and then send that spreadsheet as an attachment to rich@voicesofwrestling.com. Again, this is the only way you will be entered into the contest.
Please also remember to use the dropdown arrows provided in the sheet. If you type a wrestlers name and there’s an error in spelling, we are not responsible for any issues in scoring.
Scoring
- 1 point for correct 1st Round selection
- 2 points for correct Quarterfinals selection
- 3 points for correct Semifinals selection
- 5 points for correct New Japan Cup 2015 champion
We have also added a tiebreaker (match time for the New Japan Cup final) so please make sure to enter a time. If you do not enter a time, you will automatically lose the tiebreaker. No Price is Right rules, closest to the actual time wins.
