All eyes will be on the WWE this weekend as WrestleMania 31 make its way to Santa Clara, California just outside San Francisco. If you guys follow Rich’s travels, you’ll know we’ve gone to San Francisco the last two years around this time and we’ll be going again in April. One of my favorite parts about going to San Francisco is shopping. I’m not an obsessive shopper like some but I can’t help myself when I get to Hayes Valley and check out all the cool boutique shops (Hint: any guys going to WrestleMania, you’d be wise to bring your lady-friends to Hayes Valley as a sign of good-will).
Anyway, this has nothing to do with the actual article but makes for a good ice-breaker and allows this to tie into WrestleMania week somehow.
One of the ways I entertain myself during the miserable three-hours of wrestling I’m forced to watch every Monday is pointing out the hairstyles, clothes, accessories, etc. of the wrestlers. The one I’m constantly drawn to and the subject of my first article on wrestling fashion is Booker T’s man bun.
I decided to write this article while I was browsing the internet and came across a TMZ article counting down the top 10 man buns in Hollywood. It was a no-brainer that my man Booker T and his A+ man bun were going to be in there… I even expected him to be top five.
To my disappointment, Booker was nowhere to be found.
Don’t get me wrong, I won’t argue with Jared Leto coming in at #1, there is no competition to his flowing locks.
Still, Booker T deserves some recognition in the man bun world!
After a quick glance at this TMZ top 10 list, it was obvious a mistake had been made. Most of these buns are pathetic examples when compared to Booker and these mistakes must not go unnoticed.
I have always envied how perfect Booker’s bun looks and always get a little jealous when I realize how inferior my own bun is in comparison.
I know, I know, he has a good hair stylist, but that does not dissipate my own insecurities. So here it is, in all its glory…and despite TMZ not recognizing the king of man buns, Now all of you can relish in its greatness. Take that Jake Gyllenhaal & Chris Hemsworth.
