It’s time once again for the monthly Voices of Wrestling tradition, our WWE PPV prediction contest. It means nothing and nobody wins a thing from it, but dammit if we aren’t going to take this way too seriously.

The reigning champion Jason Chae has been one of the most consistent predictions since we started the tradition and former champion Dexter Brocks is looking to get back to the top. Joe Lanza, Brett Jendra and myself have never tasted individual gold (all have tied or shared the title at some point).

Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay & Tensai) and The Funkadactyls(Cameron and Naomi) vs. Team Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes& Damien Sandow) and The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella)

Rich Kraetsch: Tons of Funk & Funkadactyls
Dexter Brocks: Rhodes Scholars & Bellas
Joe Lanza: Tons of Funk & Funkadactyls
Brett Jendra: Tons of Funk & Funkadactyls
Jason Chae: Rhodes Scholars & Bellas

Hard to really say anything about this match. A win or loss means nothing for either team. This one is a coinflip. Dexter and Jason stick their heads out early with differing picks than Rich, Joe and Brett. Impossible to predict where this one is going to go and because of that, it might be the deciding factor in who wins the championship. Go figure.

Chris Jericho vs. Fandango

Rich: Fandango
Dexter: Fandango
Joe: Fandango
Brett: Fandango
Jason: Fandango

This match quickly rose up our list of anticipated matches because of a great, simple build. Unfortunately, it will have absolutely zero barring of the champion as we’re all solidly in Fandango’s corner. There’s no reason Fandango shouldn’t win here, so it’s safe to say we’re all getting a +1 in this match.

Team Hell No (Kane and Daniel Bryan) (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler andBig E Langston (w/ AJ Lee)

Rich: Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston
Dexter: Team Hell No
Joe: Ziggler and Big E Langston
Brett: Team Hell No
Jason: Team Hell No

I was surprised to see so many different picks for this one, but it makes sense. Both teams have numerous reasons to either win or lose. There’s potential breakups, a want for status quo, a potential for a mega stable of titles among numerous other reasons. Definitely a toss up here and it’s hard to name a definitely favorite in this match.

Sheamus, Randy Orton & Big Show vs. The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns)

Rich: The Shield
Dexter: The Shield
Joe: The Shield
Brett: The Shield
Jason: The Shield

Clean sweep for The Shield here and rightfully so, there’s no way they should lose this. The thought seems to be a Randy Orton heel turn during this match but there was some discussion on whether he becomes the leader of The Shield or just turns heel on his own. The most interesting fantasy booking came from Joe Lanza who’s hoping for an Orton heel turn followed by a Shield beat down.

Ryback vs. Mark Henry

Rich: Ryback
Dexter: Ryback
Joe: Ryback
Brett: Ryback
Jason: Mark Henry

Assumed we were going to get a sweep here, but Jason is liking Mark Henry. In my opinion, too much sense for Ryback to end his PPV losing streak in true “WrestleMania” moment fashion by beating Henry with the Shellshock. Jason’s pick isn’t totally unfounded though, if they have plans for Henry in the next few months a huge win of Ryback could propel him to that level.

Wade Barrett (c) vs. The Miz

Rich: Wade Barrett
Dexter: The Miz
Joe: The Miz
Brett: Wade Barrett
Jason: The Miz

Another match the VOW can’t agree on. This is a tough one to read. Wade’s been a great champion for awhile (the forgotten title isn’t HIS fault) but the WWE may be ready to move on. It’s not entirely negative, Wade could be getting prepped for a main event push. They also could reward The Miz and give him a title reign, who knows. Complete toss up on this one.

Alberto Del Rio (w/ Ricardo Rodriguez) (c) vs. Jack Swagger (w/ Zeb Colter)

Rich: Del Rio
Dexter: Swagger
Joe: Del Rio
Brett: Del Rio
Jason: Del Rio

This match very well could determine the champion as Dexter stuck his head out with this risky pick. Given his DUI and the rocket they strapped to Del Rio’s back, it’s hard to see Swagger walking out with the title, but this could be one of the night’s surprises. I believe it’s a huge long shot. This match of course has the potential for a Ziggler Money in the Bank cash-in but we’ve stopped trying to predict when that’s going to come.

Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. Triple H (w/ Shawn Michaels)

Rich: Triple H
Dexter: Triple H
Joe: Triple H
Brett: Triple H
Jason: Triple H

Yup. It’s Triple H at WrestleMania and he lost at Summerslam. There’s not a chance Lesnar is walking out the winner here. It’s pathetic really. Maybe we’ll be wrong, but we aren’t betting on it.

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk (w/ Paul Heyman)

Rich: The Undertaker
Dexter: The Undertaker
Joe: The Undertaker
Brett: The Undertaker
Jason: The Undertaker

There’s been some buzz about a CM Punk win but we just can’t see it. Like the HHH pick, it’s The Undertaker and it’s WrestleMania. Moreso, there has been numerous rumors about CM Punk possibly taking time off. Nobody was willing to take the risk here and rightfully so. It’s hard to believe Punk wins here.

The Rock (c) vs. John Cena

Rich: John Cena
Dexter: The Rock
Joe: John Cena
Brett: John Cena (Heel turn~!)
Jason: John Cena

Wow. I didn’t think we’d have anyone on The Rock’s side but his signed appearance at Extreme Rules in April has Dexter going with The People’s Champion. I personally can’t fathom them having Cena lose in the main event of WrestleMania again, but I guess it’s possible. Brett’s heel turn idea has been much talked about but there’s a time and a place and I’m not certain WrestleMania is it. He’s had some heel promos on the buildup to this match, but I think those are just a byproduct of building a main event match. We’ll see, Dexter’s taking a huge risk here.
